LOS ANGELES, CALFORNIA: Joy Behar, one of the hosts of 'The View',' recently stirred controversy with her statements regarding Jesus and her hypothetical actions if she were neighbors with Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito and his wife Martha-Ann.

In a discussion on 'The View's 'Behind the Table' podcast, Behar asserted that Jesus was a liberal and remarked that she would display a flag featuring a "naked gay man" outside the Alitos' residence.

Challenging misconceptions and advocating for inclusivity: Joy Behar's statements

"This Martha-Ann needs to chill. Nowhere in the Bible is there anything anti-gay," she said on the podcast. "Jesus himself was a very, very open-minded liberal. So calm down, Martha! What does she care, by the way?’" she opined.

Behar's remarks were prompted by criticism directed at Martha-Ann Alito after reports surfaced about an upside-down American flag being flown at the Alitos' home, a gesture interpreted by some in connection with the January 6 Capitol riots. Martha-Ann Alito clarified that the flag was raised during a dispute with a neighbor.

"She wanted to put the Sacred Heart of Jesus on a flag. That is kind of disrespectful, isn't it? To the religion?" Behar commented regarding Martha-Ann Alito's intention to display a religious flag.

During the episode, when a listener asked what flag Behar would hang if she were a neighbor of the Alitos, she replied that she would likely fly a flag of a "naked gay man."

She remarked, "Why are you worried that someone is living their life in the way that they want? Are they harming you? Are they harming children? No. Are they harming animals? No."

Recordings reveal controversial conversations

The controversy around Samuel Alito and his wife deepened with the emergence of secretly recorded audio by liberal filmmaker Lauren Windsor, capturing conversations between Martha-Ann Alito and Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito and John Roberts. In the recordings, Martha-Ann expressed her desire to counter the display of a gay rights flag during Pride month with a flag featuring the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

"You know what I want? I want a Sacred Heart of Jesus flag because I have to look across the lagoon at the Pride flag for the next month," Martha-Ann Alito said in the recording.

This exchange further fueled the debate over the Alitos' views and the perception of bias within the Supreme Court.

Behar's comments and the subsequent discussion on 'The View' reflect broader concerns about the politicization of the judiciary and the role of justices in shaping societal values.

"The Supreme Court at the moment is so biased and so pro-theocracy in what you saw that we just watched that somebody has to expose them because they are running around arrogant, and they have the whole GOP on their side, and we’re losing the Supreme Court’s objectivity and somebody needs to expose them," Behar said, highlighting the need for transparency and accountability within the judiciary.
