NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Joy Behar has a strong message for Democrats on the Tuesday, February 11, episode of 'The View'.

During a fiery discussion, the 82-year-old comedian urged Democratic politicians to take a lesson from Donald Trump’s media playbook and dominate the airwaves with frequent call-ins and interviews.

Joy Behar calls for a Trump-like Democrat, but her 'The View' co-hosts disagree

"Remember when Trump used to call in constantly? He was on this show, Barbara [Walters] interviewed him, and he called in on Morning Joe," Joy Behar recalled, as Fox News reported.

"That is what they should be doing. Every time, they should be ambushing the airwaves, the Democrats, get off your bu**s and start doing it."

Behar wasn’t just advocating for more media appearances—she suggested that Democrats need their own version of Trump.

A candidate who is able to connect with everyday Americans and isn’t afraid to get personal.

"It seems to me that you need a candidate that's like Trump on the left. Somebody who speaks the vernacular. He comes out there and might as well say, ‘I got a hemorrhoid today,’ and they like it. Because it’s real," she argued. "They need something like that."

However, she faced pushback from her co-hosts on wanting a Trump-like candidate.

"I hope not," Sunny Hostin said, looking less than thrilled at the idea of having a similar politician on the liberal side.

Whoopi Goldberg also wasn’t buying the notion that Democrats weren’t speaking out enough.

She pointed to multiple Democratic figures who are making their voices heard, including Sen Chuck Schumer and progressive firebrands like Rep Jasmine Crockett and Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

"Not to media bash, but, you know, people keep saying, well, why aren’t we hearing from people? It’s not that we’re not hearing from Democrats. They’re out there. Jasmine Crockett is out there, AOC is out there, people are out, Chuck Schumer. We see Chuck Schumer. You’re not getting the coverage because to them, they’re boring," Goldberg argued.

Whoopi Goldberg thinks Democrats are doing everything they can

According to Whoopi Goldberg, the problem isn’t that Democrats aren’t talking—it’s that the media isn’t listening.

"People are doing what they can do. They have a very slim minority, and they're doing what they can and they’re as vocal as they can be, but if you’re not getting the information, and you're not getting it the way you used to get all kinds of information, it's hard to back through," she added.

Whoopi Goldberg dragged Stephen A. Smith for claiming Serena Williams’ 2025 Super Bowl cameo had anything to do with Drake.

Goldberg then challenged Behar to name specific Democrats who should be dialing into news shows and making waves.

Without hesitation, Behar threw out a few names, "Pete Buttigieg and Jasmine Crockett are good messengers for the party."

But Goldberg stood firm, insisting "I'm telling you, they're out there doing it."

Still, Behar wasn’t going to back off. If Democrats want to get their message out, she had a direct call to action: "Call into 'The View' as we speak."
