NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: MSNBC host Joy Reid sparked controversy before Thanksgiving with a passionate monologue, proposing that liberals might think about excluding Trump-supporting family members from their dinner tables.

Reid's remarks, delivered on the Wednesday night edition of 'The ReidOut' on November 27, were part of a segment that critiqued conservative political views amid the tensions of the holiday season.

Joy Reid declares 'our Thanksgiving, our choice' in fiery call to Donald Trump supporters

During 'The Reidout', Joy Reid concluded her show by saying, "You right-wingers shouldn’t have to suffer the consequences of your votes? You don’t want to be around me because I voted for fascism. No fair. I am coughing on you with COVID, but you want me to wear a mask for your safety? No fair. My body, my choice."

She went on to say, "Well, here's an alternative thought — make your own dinner, MAGA. Make your own sandwiches, wipe your own tears, troll amongst yourselves with Elon, and leave us alone."

Reid accused Republicans of venerating Donald Trump "instead of Jesus" in her tirade.

She said, "But if you expect the 73 million who voted for the prosecutor, not the felon and particularly the 92% of Black women who voted for Kamala to give you a cookie for your vote, a trophy, a hug, a high-five, you might be asking too much."

"If we want to eat with you, we will. But if we want some peace over the holidays and we don’t want to put up with your trolling while we eat our Tofurky, get over it," the liberal host further added.

Reid continued, "Stop acting like we owe you. Our Thanksgiving, our choice."

Joy Reid suggests liberals may exclude Donald Trump voters from Thanksgiving

Joy Reid began the segment by addressing Trump voters who are offended that liberals may not wish to share Thanksgiving dinner with them following the election, Fox News reports.

In recent weeks, Reid expressed strong sentiments towards Latino voters, stating that they are responsible for "everything" that occurs within their families.

She also stated that Black women were no longer inclined to save America following the results. Reid addressed White female progressives in a TikTok video after the election, advising them to exclude Black women from their invite lists if they intended to organize protests against Trump's victory.

"I just want to give some free advice to the White progressive women who may be thinking about marching against the Trump victory, maybe putting back on the P-word hats and doing that thing, I would just say probably don't send any of those invites to any Black women. I'm just going to tell you right now, they're not coming," she concluded.

Joy Reid's Thanksgiving remarks spark outrage on social media

As soon as Joy Reid's remark went viral on social media, users started reacting to it. A user said, "Joy Reid is nuts. She needs to leave the US if she hates everything here. Or, CA, same thing."

Another added, "She needs to be but in a mental institution! She is beyond delusional and deranged!"

A third commented, "Every time I see her trending, I’m hoping it’s because she’s been fired."

"What a disgusting evil human being, and they give her a voice. Lotta evil in this world," said a critic.

A person said, "Get this woman off the air. She is the problem."

Another added, "She keeps complaining about White people when her racism is the problem."
