LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As destructive LA wildfires continue to ravage Southern California, residents already grappling with the chaos of evacuations are now facing a new nightmare—looters ransacking their homes.

Among the countless victims are high-profile celebrities, including Jamie Lee Curtis, Mark Hamill, Ben Affleck, and Mandy Moore, who have seen their valuable possessions stolen during this crisis.

What is Julia Roberts' two-word response to looting amid the LA fires

Julia Roberts has called out looters targeting multimillion-dollar homes amid the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. In a powerful Instagram post on Monday, Roberts expressed her anger, stating, "FU looters."

She then shifted her focus to the pressing need for support in the aftermath of the devastating fires, writing, "There is so much healing and help needed. We will get through this."

The actress encouraged her millions of followers to contribute to the SoCal Fire Fund, which provides both immediate and long-term assistance to affected communities. The initiative is supported by organizations such as the CAA Foundation, CORE Response, and the Entertainment Industry Foundation.

Although Roberts has long been outspoken on environmental and social issues, it’s important to note that her current residence remains unclear, though she previously owned a home in Malibu.

What did LA officials say of looting amid LA wildfire?

In response to the looting incidents, county officials have pledged a zero-tolerance policy toward all offenders, as per Radar Online.

LA County District Attorney Nathan Hochman issued a stern warning, stating, "These crimes are not only appalling but a brazen attack on our community during a time of unimaginable loss and grief."

He further emphasized, "Let me be clear: If you exploit this tragedy to prey on victims of these deadly fires, we will find you, and we will prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law."

Hochman also sent a strong message to potential troublemakers, saying, "Do not go ahead and engage in looting, engage in internet scams, engage in price gouging, do not violate evacuation orders. Do not commit any of these crimes in which people are trying to profit from the tragedy."

He added, "These looters are preying on people who are at their most vulnerable - people who have already lost so much to these fires.  The question is not if, but when, they will be caught."

California Governor Gavin Newsom also condemned the looting, saying, "Stop encouraging looting by lying and telling people it's decriminalized. It's not."
