Justin Baldoni releases texts from Ryan Reynolds on newly launched website amid Blake Lively legal battle
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Things are only getting messier between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. In the latest development amid the ongoing legal battle between the two stars, Baldoni has launched a website that includes previously unseen text messages, including ones from Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds.
The newly released documents shed light on Baldoni’s side of the conflict, which began during the production of 'It Ends with Us' and escalated into a high-profile legal dispute.
Justin Baldoni's newly launched website reveals 168 pages of texts and emails
The website, titled Lawsuit Info, went live on February 1, Saturday, and features two main documents: an amended complaint and a timeline of key events leading up to and following the production of 'It Ends with Us'.
The timeline includes 168 pages of correspondence, including texts, emails, and other communications that have never been made public before. The newly revealed messages aim to provide a detailed, chronological account of Baldoni's perspective on the conflict with Lively.
Among the texts made public is a message from Ryan Reynolds, dated February 2023. The message reportedly reads: "I’m excited for you to work together. I’m excited for Blake to crack open her creative piggy bank with someone as dynamic as you. This is gonna be INCREDIBLE. … I happen to adore you, Justin."
The message appears to reinforce a positive relationship between Baldoni and Reynolds, contrary to the allegations made by Lively in her lawsuit.
The timeline also includes a text from Lively herself, dated April 2023, in which she discusses rewrites for a scene in 'It Ends with Us'.
In the message, Lively allegedly wrote: “If you knew me (in person) longer you’d have a sense of how flirty and yummy the ball busting will play. It’s my love language. Spicy and playfully bold, never with teeth….”
These revelations come just days before a pre-trial conference scheduled for February 3, where both sides are expected to discuss the ongoing litigation.
Blake Lively's team requests gag order but Justin Baldoni’s attorneys push back
Blake Lively’s team has already raised concerns about the public dissemination of evidence, asking Judge Lewis J Liman to consider a potential gag order to prevent further media leaks.
Lively’s attorneys have argued that Baldoni's legal team, specifically his lawyer Bryan Freedman, has been “tainting” a potential jury pool by sharing sensitive information outside of court.
Baldoni’s legal team, however, has pushed back against the suggestion of a gag order, calling it an “intimidation tactic” and accusing Lively of fueling the media frenzy by allegedly supplying The New York Times with a copy of her initial complaint with the California Civil Rights Department, People reported.
This legal battle began in December 2024 when Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni’s production company, Wayfarer Studios, and several other individuals, including Baldoni himself.
The actress claimed that she was subjected to harassment and a smear campaign in retaliation for speaking out about alleged misconduct during the filming of 'It Ends with Us'.
Baldoni has denied these allegations and countersued Lively, Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloane, accusing them of defamation and extortion.
Both parties are scheduled to go to trial on March 9, 2026, but the pre-trial conference will allow both sides to address issues like Lively's request for a gag order and other pre-trial motions.
