MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA: Vice President Kamala Harris appeared to throw some serious shade at her boss President Joe Biden on Monday, October 21, insisting that her face-off against Donald Trump is way different from any recent White House race.

Speaking to a crowd in the Philadelphia suburbs alongside former GOP Rep Liz Cheney, the Democratic presidential nominee declared, "This election is presenting for the first time probably — in certainly recent history — a very clear choice and difference between the two nominees."

Kamala Harris reiterates her presidency won't be a continuation of Joe Biden's

Kamala Harris' comments seemed to be a not-so-subtle jab at Joe Biden. She pretty much suggested that this time around, voters have a way clearer choice than they did in 2020 when the president framed his campaign as a "battle for the soul of America."

Biden was all about distancing himself from Trump back then — even labeling the Republican's views as "semi-fascism" in 2022. But now, Harris is hinting that her campaign is the one really offering a new direction.

When the vice president was asked to explain what she meant by "turning the page," she doubled down that her administration would be different from Biden’s. "Needless to say, mine will not be a continuation of the Biden administration. I bring to it my own ideas, my own experiences," declared Harris.

That’s almost a total 180 from just a couple of weeks ago when she told the hosts of ABC’s 'The View' that there’s "not a thing" she’d have done differently over the last four years with Biden.

She had asserted, "There is not a thing that comes to mind in terms of — and I’ve been a part of — of the decisions that have had impact."

It’s like she’s trying to walk a tightrope between being her own candidature and not throwing Biden under the bus completely.

Donald Trump's camp eager to remind voters of Kamala Harris' ties to Joe Biden administration

Not missing a beat, the Trump campaign has been working to keep Kamala Harris tied to Joe Biden’s administration, especially with the president's approval ratings hovering around a not-so-great 41.3%, according to RealClearPolitics.

Harris might be aiming to set herself apart, but Trump’s team is eager to remind voters that she’s been part of the current administration from the start.

Still, during the event with Cheney, Harris didn’t hold back on bashing Trump by calling him a threat to democracy and urging for a fresh start. "We need a healthy two-party system," argued the vice president, adding, "We need to be able to have these good, intense debates about issues that are grounded in fact. Let’s start there!"

One of Harris’s campaign promises is to include a Republican in her cabinet if she wins, and people are already throwing out names.

Ben Pierce, a 72-year-old charity leader from Bryn Mawr, wasn’t shy about saying, 'Liz has all the qualifications to be a terrific member of the cabinet." He also insisted that Harris should probably bring more than just one Republican into her team.

Pierce told the New York Post, "I’m sorry that she says just a Republican. Why not leave the door open?"

Internet slams Kamala Harris as she tries to forge her own path

However, social media wasn't so kind to Kamala Harris' comments. Many pointed out that it’s hard to sell a "new way forward" when you’ve been a major part of the current administration.

One wrote, "Kamala's 'new way forward' is just a tired rerun of the same old script. She's the one holding the pen in this administration—she can't pretend to be separate from the mess they've created!"

A person said, "So now that’s the line? She will repeat this one over and over," while someone else expressed, "She doesn’t give ONE example of how she differs from Biden. Man, she is BAD at this."

"You can’t claim a ‘new way forward’ when you’ve been part of the decision-making all along. She’s got Biden’s baggage, whether she likes it or not," remarked an individual.

A Trump supporter stated, "Yet she takes pride in 'being the last one in the room' and being involved in most if not all major decisions? She switches up her opinions every week it seems. On top of it all she can’t speak without a teleprompter.. Trump 2024."

"Run from your record as fast as you can, yet Americans have seen what you have/haven't done in the last almost 4 years," declared another person.
