LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kanye West is back in the political spotlight after reacting to President Donald Trump’s address to Congress on Tuesday, March 4.

The controversial rapper shared his thoughts on social media, making bold declarations about “wokeness” and tearing up during a key moment in the speech.

Kanye West's stance against 'wokeness'

Kanye West initially posted a simple message that read, "Trump's Address" alongside a link to the livestream. However, he quickly followed up with a controversial statement.

"Wokeness is bad. Wokeness is trouble. It's gone. Thank you, President Trump," he wrote on X.

During the address, West admitted he got emotional while watching Marc Fogel, the American teacher recently released from a Russian prison, attend the event.

"Marc Fargols [sic] moment made me and my wife tear up just now. Something about his mom being next to him," he shared, referring to Bianca Censori.

Fogel was arrested in August 2021 after attempting to enter Russia with 0.6 ounces of medical cannabis. He was sentenced to 14 years in prison in June 2022 but was released last month.

Later that evening, West reignited controversy with antisemitic remarks, stating, "There’s actually some good Jewish people," but only "like one or two."

The rapper has a history of inflammatory statements, having previously praised Adolf Hitler, referred to himself as a "racist," and claimed to have "dominion" over his wife, Bianca Censori, according to OK Magazine.

Kanye West's controversial claims

Kanye West, who shares four children, North, 11, Saint, nine, Chicago, seven, and Psalm, five, with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, has also made bizarre personal claims.

In February, he hinted at an alleged past encounter with Ivanka Trump.

"George Farmer, I did not f**k your wife. Rest easy. Jerrod [sic] Kushner on the other hand 👀," he wrote, referencing Candace Owens’ husband Farmer and also referred to Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump’s husband and father of her three children Arabella Rose, Joseph Frederick, and Theodore James.

A teaser for West’s appearance on Justin LaBoy’s podcast 'Respectfully Justin' recently surfaced, where the rapper claimed he had intended to attend Trump’s inauguration but refused after being asked to apologize for past antisemitic remarks.

"It’s censorship," West asserted, adding, "They told me I have to write another apology and say again that I wasn’t an antisemitic static. What’s the word?"

When LaBoy corrected him, West responded, "I’m saying anti-sympathetic because anti-sympathetic, that’s not what it was. I don’t have feelings about anti-sympathetic."
