WASHINGTON, DC: Comedian Kathy Griffin faced mockery on social media for alleging that GOP nominee Donald Trump would target comedians if reelected for a second term.

Kathy Griffin shared her views in a September 11 interview with Entertainment Weekly, where she claimed that Donald Trump would pick comedians one by one if reelected.

The interview was part of the promotion for Griffin's new tour, 'My Life on the PTSD List,' named after the trauma she endured following a federal investigation into the infamous 2017 photo of her holding a bloodied Trump mask, according to Fox News

Griffin announced that she was diagnosed with an "extreme case" of post-traumatic stress disorder in April 2023.

Kathy Griffin speculates Donald Trump may target comedians if reelected

Kathy Griffin suggested that Donald Trump keeps "a list" of personal targets and fears he would act on it if reelected.

"He’s going to pick us off, one by one, like bowling pins, and I’m not kidding and I’m not being paranoid," shared the 63-year-old.

"I’m a D-lister, he’s not going to get to me on day one, but he’ll get to me, trust me. He’s got a list. I’ve known this guy for 25 years, maybe 30. He’s so petty that he lives for this. He doesn’t want to be President or do any president-ing," she expressed.

Griffin also named several comedians she believes are on Trump's radar.

"If he gets reelected, he’ll go after Jimmy Kimmel, he’ll go after Jon Stewart, all the name ones, but he’ll go after Rosie O’Donnell. That’s all he’s going to do all day," she stated. "He’ll have press conferences about it. He’s so much crazier than he was the first go-round."

Internet trolls Kathy Griffins over her comments

Netizens, particularly conservatives on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), trolled Kathy Griffin for her prediction.

"Well at least she’s safe," wrote a user.

"Someone needs to explain to her that to be a comedian, you've gotta be funny, not pathetic," stated another.

"I think Kathy Griffin feels she's a lot more important than she thinks she is," shared a third.

"It’s astounding that this always a D lister believes anybody cares what she thinks at this point. She’s delusional," echoed another.

"Kathy Griffin desperately trying to remain relevant," jibed a user.

"Her labeling herself a comedian is the funniest joke I've heard from her," mocked another.

"The delusion is strong with this one," shared yet another with a Yoda meme.
