Katie Holmes misses 'close proximity' with daughter Suri
Beyond the spotlight, this season holds a special significance for Katie Holmes.
Her daughter, Suri returned home for the holidays.
Suri, now a college student at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, has made two trips back to New York in recent weeks. The first was to attend Holmes's play, where she reportedly joined a standing ovation in support of her mom.
According to Hello! magazine, reflecting on her life in New York City, Holmes once told InStyle:
"The city has a lot to offer, and I use it. Yes, it's a little too exposed at times, and we work hard to maneuver and navigate. But what I love about New York is that for me and my child, this is our vibe. When there are 25 things to do every night, it takes you out of your own thing. And you know what else I discovered? There's a place not far from my house that does foot massages until midnight. That's what New York offers!"
Although adjusting to Suri being away at college hasn’t been easy, Holmes is embracing this new phase of life with pride and optimism.
Speaking about her daughter’s growth, Holmes shared:
"I'm proud of my daughter. Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I'm really proud of her and I'm happy. I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It's exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that."
