KC Amos pushes back against sister Shannon's need for investigation into father John Amos' death
EAST ORANGE, NEW JERSEY: John Amos' death has sparked a contentious dispute between his children, KC Amos and Shannon Amos.
On December 25, Shannon Amos’ attorney, James H Davis III, announced that she had hired legal counsel to investigate the circumstances surrounding her father’s death in August, alleging elder abuse by her brother.

Shannon Amos' concerns include her father, John Amos’ admission to Centinela Hospital, his condition at the time, and what she describes as inconsistencies in the accounts of those involved in his care.
According to her, someone falsely claiming to be John’s daughter dropped him off at the hospital.
Shannon has filed multiple formal requests for John’s medical records from Centinela Hospital but has yet to receive a response.
“The family deserves to know the full circumstances surrounding Mr Amos’ care and the events that led to his passing,” her attorney stated.
KC Amos denies Shannon Amos' allegations
KC Amos has firmly denied his sister Shannon Amos' accusations as he maintained that their father lived a happy life up until his death and died from natural causes.
"My dad wanted to go to Centinela because he trusted them," KC told People.
“There was a discussion of contacting other family members, and Pops said not to contact anyone. I honored his request,” he continued.
Rejecting claims of elder abuse, he said, “There has been no physical, financial, emotional, or psychological elder abuse or neglect committed against my father by me or anyone else."
"This has been documented by investigations conducted by Homeland Security Services, Inc., Adult Protective Services, and law enforcement agencies,” he added.
Defense investigator speaks out in John Amos' death case
Kevin Faler, Vice President of Operations at Homeland Security Services, Inc, who has been working with KC Amos, also defended him.
Faler described a “comprehensive two-year investigation” that found no evidence to support allegations of elder abuse.
“This investigation encompasses a detailed examination of financial discrepancies, including the trail of John Amos’ missing money and stolen belongings valued in the millions of dollars,” Faler said.
He added that all criminal charges previously levied against KC in New Jersey had been dismissed.

“The current allegations regarding foul play and elder abuse are frivolous,” Faler said.
“John Amos passed from natural causes at the age of 84 years old. There was no foul play,” he added.
A history of John Amos' family conflict
The conflict between Shannon Amos and KC Amos is not new. In 2023, Shannon accused KC of elder abuse, prompting investigations that were later closed due to lack of evidence.
Around the same time, the late John himself released a video from his hospital bed, suggesting Shannon was the one taking advantage of him.
“She would be the primary suspect—if you would,” John said in the video, adding, “It’s definitely a case of elderly abuse."

In December 2023, John expressed hope for reconciliation between his children.
“I love [Shannon]. KC loves his sister. … Everything heals in time, and the love is still there,” he shared.
“The real truth will come out soon,” John had said before his death.
