Keanu Reeves' priceless reaction to Jonathan Groff caressing his face at 2025 Tony Awards sparks frenzy

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Keanu Reeves and Jonathan Groff had an unexpected yet very funny moment at the 2025 Tony Awards on Sunday, June 8, and their fans could not hold their excitement.

During the event at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, the Broadway star was performing a ‘Just In Time’ medley when he suddenly jumped off the stage and stood on Reeves’ armrests, as reported by the HuffPost.

He then went on to caress the 60-year-old actor’s face and chest while the ‘John Wick’ star gave a shocked face before holding his hands up.

Fans were all excited after watching the hilarious moment, and they took to social media to share their thoughts. 

An X (formerly Twitter) user joked, “Party on, dudes! This moment with Keanu Reeves and Jonathan Groff is taking me out. 😆," while another shared, “THAT WAS HISTORIC! simply jonathan groff singing over keanu reeves at #TonyAwards.”

Meanwhile, after his performance, Jonathan Groff, nominated in the Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical category for ‘Just in Time’, also received a standing ovation. The award ultimately went to Darren Criss for 'Maybe Happy Ending'. 

The 40-year-old 'Hamilton' star played the late singer Bobby Darin in the Alex Timbers-directed musical.

In April, Groff told Vogue, “I was completely taken by Bobby’s primal ferocity, even on these old black-and-white clips of him performing. There was a real presence and passion.”

“This wasn’t just a rock-and-roll guy or a crooner singing songs. There was a real connection in his performance style,” he added.
