In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning on September 1, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, 53, shared a fascinating tidbit from her past—a connection with Matt Damon, who is also 53.

Reflecting on their time at Harvard University, Jackson confirmed they were classmates, with Damon being a year ahead of her.

When CBS' Norah O'Donnell asked Jackson, "So, is it true you were here at the same time as Matt Damon?" Jackson confirmed it by saying, "It is true."

Although they were "never in an actual performance", they were paired as scene partners in a drama class. Jackson emphasized, "He’s not going to remember this, of course."

Jackson recounted working with Damon on a scene from 'Waiting for Godot'. Jackson also clarified, "The reason why I remember it is because he was already kind of well-known around campus and off campus, so it was kind of exciting to be his scene partner for a particular class."

“At the end, the professor said, ‘Ketanji, you were very good. Matt, we’ll talk.’ I was like, ‘Oh my God, I was better than Matt Damon in a scene.’” Jackson recalled with a smile, revealing her surprise at being praised over Damon.

This revelation follows Jackson's historic appointment as the country’s first Black female Supreme Court Justice in February 2022.

A representative for Matt Damon confirmed that the actor does not recall their collaboration on a scene from 'Waiting for Godot' during their drama class. Nonetheless, Damon, the star of 'Good Will Hunting', found the story quite impressive, responding with, “That’s so cool!”

Jackson's memoir titled 'Lovely One', which delves into such personal anecdotes, is set to be released on Tuesday, September 3, People reported.
