Kevin Costner 'leaning' on ex-wife Cindy after being heartbroken over split from Christine Baumgartner

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kevin Costner has found support in his first wife Cindy Costner after being left heartbroken from his split from his second wife Christine Baumgartner.
An insider spoke with the Daily Mail about the actor's dynamics with his first wife. They revealed, “Kevin and Cindy have stayed close friends and she has been guiding him in recent months over his heartbreak from Christine as she is a wise woman.”
“He really appreciates that their sad split has led to such a beautiful friendship. She is an ally and offers great advice. He leans on her quite often,” the insider added.

The tipster also shared that since the former couple shares three children together—Lily, Joe, and Annie—it helps them bond better.
They stated, “Often they get together for the kids' birthdays and are able to spend quality time together. It's all very amicable and friendly.”

The ‘Yellowstone’ star married Cindy in 1978 after they met at California State University - Fullerton as students.
But in 1994 their marriage ended and the ‘Dances with Wolves’ actress received around $80 million in the divorce settlement.

A statement from the duo at the time read, “We have amicably resolved all issues regarding our children and financial affairs and a full marital settlement has been reached. We ask to be allowed the dignity of sorting through this more painful part of our lives in private.”
At the time, Costner said, “This has been the hardest year of my life. I am no longer with Cindy, my partner since childhood. And I was working on this very tough picture,” referring to ‘Waterworld’, as per US Weekly.
“A series of events conspired to happen at the same time. I know it hurt some people that I had failed in my marriage. And the marriage was my own failure,” he stated.

Also in 2012, the 70-year-old told The Hollywood Reporter, “My faith was shaken. No one wants their marriage to end, and it did. You are going to see the people you love most, your children, only half as much. That’s a huge loss.”
