WASHINGTON, DC: Shark Tank host Kevin O'Leary vexed Fox News' Laura Ingraham by disagreeing with her claims that Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign was bankrolled by billionaires.

The conflict transpired while the duo was blasting the Democratic presumptive nominee on policy, but O'Leary pointed out Harris' impressive fundraising since entering the 2024 race.

Last month, President Joe Biden suspended his reelection bid, passing the baton to Harris for the Democratic ticket. The party confirmed her as the presumptive nominee through a virtual roll call this week ahead of the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

Unlike Biden, the vice president is posing a neck-to-neck race with former president Donald Trump with the rise in her poll numbers in the last two weeks. In addition, her fundraising also saw a steady rise, securing $310 million in July alone.

Laura Ingraham gets annoyed by Kevin O'Leary's refusal to agree on billionaire funding for Kamala Harris' campaign

The Fox News host Laura Ingraham expressed her annoyance when Kevin O'Leary noted Kamala Harris' campaign was not financed by billionaires on Monday, August 5 episode of 'The Ingraham Angle,' as per Mediaite.

"If you are Kamala Harris right now, you're killing it on what matters," said the Shark Tank host. "What matters in a campaign is money, especially now. And she's killing it raising money."

"Why are the billionaires giving her money?" Ingraham questioned. "Kevin, you know these people."

"No, no, no, no. She's not getting it from billionaires," O'Leary rebutted, causing Ingraham to bow her head, being irked by the dissent. "She's getting $20 at a time!" he added, pushing the Fox News host to claim, "Silicon Valley and Wall Street is shoveling money at Kamala Harris. Why is that?"

The disagreement continued when O'Leary responded the money flaw was because it was working.

"For whom?!" Ingraham pressed her guest, who got the hint that she was annoyed by his comment. He then reminded her that all those were facts and that he wouldn't tell if she did not want to hear it.

Nevertheless, Ingraham refused to give up reiterating her question on why the billionaires were "shoveling" money to Harris, asking whether it was because she was "a champion of the middle class?"

"No, I'm answering a different question," O'Leary responded. "You're asking the right question. Why do we get policy? And I'm telling you, it won't be until after August 7th. That's when the race begins."

Most of Harris' eye-popping fundraising came in the week after Biden endorsed her on July 21, with around two-thirds of the $310 million from first-time donors, and 94% of the contributions accounted for $200 or less, as per Reuters.

The Democrat's campaign ended July with $377 million cash on hand, whereas Trump's campaign had $327 million.

Internet clashes with Laura Ingraham's claim

Outraged at Laura Ingraham's assertion of billionaires funding Harris' campaign, netizens pointed out that Republicans are supporting billionaire Trump to pay his legal fees.

"It's as if magas and RW media are constipated in trying to attack Kamala," a user commented below Mediaite's article.

"They cry about everything," another remarked.

"If a guy has a private 757, and you're sending him money for his legal fees, you're more stupid than I thought," a third user added, referring to Trump.

"Money donated to the Harris campaign goes to her campaign. Money donated to Trump’s campaign goes to cover his personal legal expenses. Around 100 million so far. Oh, and $250,000 to Melania’s dress designer," read a fourth response.

"But its OK for billionaires to funnel cash to Trump Man I hate these hypocrites," someone else chimed in.

"If you give money to Harris you don't have to worry about it going to her legal defense fund unlike someone," another user said.

"Why didn’t Ingraham mention all the Billionaires donating to the Trump campaign?" a user asked.

"Lying Laura Ingrate projecting. She knows her party is bought and paid for by the billionaire class," read one comment.
