Kim Kardashian 'spreads her wings' with own drama series as future of family's reality show revealed
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian has decided to 'spread her wings' with her own unnamed upcoming drama show as she is on a mission to prove she is more than a one-trick pony, per The US Sun.
Kardashian has been taking up a large number of projects aside from her family’s 'The Kardashians' on Hulu in recent times.
She has tried her acting skills in 'American Horror Story' and, most recently, offered her views as a talking head on upcoming docuseries 'In Vogue: The 90s'.
The future of Kim Kardashian's career
A source with ties to Hulu told The US Sun that it is part of Kim's ambition to become a star in her own right. The insider said, "The bigger strategy at Hulu is all about keeping 'The Kardashians' relatively intact as a reality show while breaking Kim out into her own projects and, really, her own brand of entertainment completely separate from this long-running reality show."
The source added, "So far, that has worked like gangbusters on the latest season of 'American Horror Story' as well as the multiple scripted projects Kim has been putting together over the last year."
The insider went on to say, "I'm sure it's been a bit of a dance in terms of letting Kim follow her muse while also keeping the rest of the family members happy as they keep grinding out episodes of The Kardashians, but none of this would be happening if Kim didn't want to spread her wings in the first place."
The source added, "She is trying to show the entertainment industry that she's more than just a one-trick pony, and so far, it's working."
Why was Kim Kardashian included in Vogue's docu-series?
Kim Kardashian is part of Vogue's docu-series 'In Vogue: The 90s' where she will share the screen with Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham, Elizabeth Hurley, and Kate Moss.
Despite being a kid in the 90s, people are curious to know why she is a part of the show. The source said that Kim had been included due to her relationship with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
The source said, "The number one reason Kim is in this documentary series is Kim's very solid, hard-won relationship with Vogue boss Anna Wintour."
The insider added, "It took many years to build that level of trust between them but Kim is very loyal to Anna as a result and when Anna invites her to participate in a project, Kim doesn't say no."
The source further mentioned, "Kim didn't campaign to be involved and didn't pressure anybody to be featured with her talking head interview. She was invited, and she talked to the filmmakers for free."
The docu-series is set to premiere on Hulu on September 13, 2024.
