LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: While Kris Jenner made waves at the Met Gala with her “haori-inspired” coat-and-robe look, she’s also back in the spotlight for a different reason, a gift she received from long-term friend Meghan Markle.

Jenner took to social media to thank Markle for sending her a Mother's Day present. This came after Jenner hosted Markle and Prince Harry at her 70th birthday celebration back in November 2025.

The celebration grabbed attention at the time due to the so-called 'photogate' drama, which sparked rumors about a possible fallout between the Kardashian-Jenner family and the Sussexes.

For those who missed it, rumors started last year about trouble between Kris, Kim, Meghan, and Prince Harry after photos of the royal couple were removed from the Kardashians' social media posts.

Jenner took to social media to thank Meghan Markle for the present. On Wednesday, May 6, the Kardashian-Jenner family matriarch posted a photo of the gift on Instagram stories and wrote: “Thank you @meghan @aseverofficial for the beautiful Mother's Day gifts! These candles smell so delicious!! Happy Mother's Day!!!”

The post showed candles from Markle’s As Ever collection, along with a handwritten note that read, “Dear Kris, Happy Mother's Day to the most maternal woman in the world,” in part.

Markle also included chocolates, alongside the candles, which feature scents inspired by Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie’s birthdays.

What is the 'photogate' incident?

The so-called 'photogate' drama began after Jenner’s lavish birthday party back in November, which Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended as guests. Jenner’s social media post from the celebration included a photo of herself posing with the couple, while Kim also shared an image with Markle.

However, the photos featuring the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were later removed from social media, which quickly sparked online speculation about whether there was tension between the families.

A source told PEOPLE that Markle and Prince Harry “arrived hand-in-hand and looked very happy” at the party. The 'Suits' star donned a black wrap-style dress, while Prince Harry wore a tuxedo with a poppy to mark Remembrance Day on November 11.

Despite the glamorous appearance, the couple faced criticism for attending a party on the eve of Remembrance Sunday. The situation complicated further after netizens noticed they were removed from Kardashians' posts.

However, Kim addressed the situation on her sister Khloé's 'Khloé in Wonder Land' podcast, and clarified that the removal of the photos was not due to any fallout.

She said, “It was really innocent, which is so crazy," Kim said. "Mom and Meghan have been friends for some years now, and they have a really sweet relationship.”

She added that the posts were taken down out of respect after realizing the timing. “And then after it was posted, I think they realized it was Remembrance Day, and they didn’t want to be seen at a party, even though it’s already up, you know, and then taken down. And then I think they realized, like, 'Oh, this was so silly,'"

Kim also noted that while Markle and Prince Harry attended a Baby2Baby charity event that same night. "So we took them down to respect Remembrance Day."
