LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lady Gaga has finally revealed the effects of the seemingly demeaning Facebook Group created by her ex-classmates on her as she started her musical journey.

Gaga’s fans have been long aware of the closed Facebook group that declared the 38-year-old global superstar would “never be famous.”

The Oscar winner, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, has now responded to the existence of the viral group when a fan shared a screenshot of the group on their TikTok, by declaring this is ”why you can’t give up.”

Before reaching astronomical heights as a popstar, as a teenager, Lady Gaga was a student at NYU's Tisch School of Arts.

Though the maverick musician left the college just after three semesters to pursue her career, some of her classmates weren’t supportive.

At that time, some of the ‘Poker Face’ singer’s classmates made a Facebook group called, “Stefani Germanotta, you will never be famous.”

Recently, a social media user posted a screenshot of the page on their TikTok, to which Gaga responded with an inspiring message.

The Grammy and Oscar-winning star wrote in the post's comment section on Wednesday, September 11, “Some people I went to college w made this way back when.”

She continued, “This why you can’t give up when people doubt you or put you down – gotta keep going.”

Gaga’s fans have long been aware of the closed group made over a decade ago. The group had just 12 members and a photo of a younger Gaga with a black X placed on her face.

Nevertheless, the ‘Judas’ singer previously shared that left NYU just after three semesters when she was 19.

In 2009, she told Elle, “I loved NYU, but I thought I could teach myself about art better than the school could,” per Daily Mail.

She continued, “I really felt New York was my teacher and that I needed to bite the bullet and go it alone. I wasn't interested in going to frat parties and doing those sorts of collegiate things. I was really interested in the music scene and waitressing and cleaning toilets, or whatever the f**k it was I was doing.”

Contrary to her classmates’ hurtful predictions, the musician indeed became one of the most beloved artists in the world with 13 Grammy wins and an Oscar win for Best Original Song.

Apart from her stellar accolades, gaga has also received 18 MTV VMAs, 10 Billboard Music Awards, and two Golden Globes.
