Lady Gaga teases she’s ready to have children with Michael Polansky: ‘Want kids to find out who they are’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lady Gaga, who has been dating Michael Polansky, CEO of the Parker Group, since 2019 and got engaged in 2024, has now teased their plans to have children.
In a heartfelt interview with Elle for their February cover, the 'Bloody Mary' singer opened up about her new chapter with fiance Polansky. The conversation also took a deeply personal turn, with Gaga reflecting on her past struggles and revealing how battling her demons has influenced her artistry.
Along with these revelations, Gaga, who’s eagerly preparing for the release of her seventh album, 'Mayhem', gave fans a sneak peek into the creative chaos behind the album.
Lady Gaga recounts conversation with Michael Polansky about having children
In an interview, Lady Gaga discussed her thoughts on having children, beginning with a question about how her future children might view her artistry.
She shared, "I would want my children to understand that whatever my artistry means to them is totally up to them. I would never actually want to shape it or tell them how to think about me. Maybe other than that I just did my best. And tried to stay true to myself along the way."
Reflecting on her conversations with fiance Michael Polansky, Gaga revealed, "That’s something Michael and I have talked about a lot — allowing our kids to be their own people. It’s such an intense thing for kids coming into the world. And they’re told how to think and what to believe in and how to eat…I just kind of want to let my kids find out who they are."
Gaga also expressed her thoughts on her children's future perspectives, saying, "My kid might one day say, ‘Mom, why do you do these things? I saw a funny video of you dressed up'. Most certainly that will happen. And you know, maybe it’s okay to say, ‘What do you think?'"
When the Elle interviewer, a mother of a 6-year-old, warned Gaga that children can be brutally honest, the singer responded, "Oh, I’m ready."
Michael Polansky talks about maintaining 'normalcy' in his relationship with Lady Gaga
Later in the interview, Lady Gaga's fiance, Michael Polansky, who joined via call with the interviewer, shared insights with the publication about how the couple focuses on maintaining normalcy in their life together. The tech investor revealed how they find quiet moments when they can.
He explained, "Accepting that you won’t have the privacy others might have was the hardest part. But Stefani’s comfort with it and patience with me has been amazing."
Lady Gaga added, "Our relationship is probably a lot like everyone else’s. We just have to figure out how to do some of it in public. That makes it even more important for us to have strong friendships and close family relationships. We find normalcy where we can."
Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, then discussed some of her comforting activities, with Polansky saying, "We also really like making simple dishes with Michael’s mom, who lives nearby."
Later, the singer opened up about how Polansky helped write seven songs for her upcoming album Mayhem. He admitted, "This album was so much fun to watch her make. She recorded it right down the street from our house, so we could easily walk back and forth from the studio. I spent a lot of time with her, bringing my laptop to work while she was there."
