Lala Kent slammed as she admits to editing 3-year-old daughter Ocean’s teeth in photos: ‘This is stupid’

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Vanderpump Rules' star Lala Kent, who shares her daughter Ocean with ex Randall Emmett, recently revealed that she photoshopped her daughter's teeth in a social media post, sparking a wave of online criticism.

The controversy erupted after Kent shared an Instagram Story on December 1, 2024, showing Ocean with her mouth wide open, proudly displaying her teeth. Following negative comments about her daughter’s teeth, Kent admitted that she edits Ocean's photos. Kent is also mother to another daughter, Sosa Kent.

In a now-deleted Instagram Story that quickly circulated online, Lala Kent admitted to editing her 3-year-old daughter Ocean’s two front teeth. 

The statement came alongside an unedited video of Ocean smiling. Kent explained, “I’m usually the type to not read/ignore comments. But we are from Utah honey... We are teeth people! so I could not let this comment slide.”

She then shared why she edited the photo, revealing, “Ocean has a fond relationship with her wild side and enjoys not listening. She fell off her bike face first.” 

While the exact negative comment about her daughter's teeth remains unclear, it appears to have been in response to Ocean's gray teeth. Kent explained, “There is trauma to the root of her two front teeth (yes, I’m the mom who usually edits this. Go ahead and judge).”

Kent concluded with a worrying update on the situation, saying, “The root isn’t dead, but we go to the dentist every 3-6 months for check-ins. They will likely have to be pulled or she will have to have a root canal 🤦‍♀️.”

After Lala Kent's post where she admitted editing her daughter Ocean's teeth, many people quickly took to social media to share their reactions, with one person mocking her initial statement, "Born and raised in Utah and I have no idea wtf she is talking about... lol."

Another wrote, "This is still STUPID."

One user claimed, "Exaxtly, I can’t believe people see nothing wrong with photoshopping a 3 year olds appearance. Giving them body issue images so early on in life because they’ll learn their mother doesnt think they look okay the way they are."

Another slammed, "Exactly why are we trying to make these babies vain and giving them self esteem issues already? All parents know their teeth will be changing and awkward around this time."

"So people are up in arms and she didn’t actually chemically whiten them? lol," said one.

A Facebook user said, "If she is trying to whiten the two damaged front teeth that are discolored it’s not going to work. When she fell and hit her teeth the root was damaged and they are now discolored, whitening strips are not going to help that. Seems extremely vein on her part.
