Lala Kent reveals she advised one of her 'dearest friends' Brittany Cartwright to 'leave' Jax Taylor

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lala Kent revealed that she was not surprised by the marital troubles of her close friend Brittany Cartwright and her husband Jax Taylor.

The former 'Vanderpump Rules' co-stars announced their separation on February 29, on their podcast 'When Reality Hits', amid their upcoming spin-off show 'The Valley.'

Kent, 33, opened up about the situation on the Tuesday, March 5, episode of 'Watch What Happens Live.'

She said that she knew things were not going well for the couple who have been married since 2019 and have a son named Cruz, born in 2021.

“I mean, she’s one of my dearest friends, so I obviously knew that things were not great,” Kent said.

“I told her, ‘I support you,’ but I always say, ‘Leave him,’” the 'Vaderpump Rules' star said.

Brittany Cartwright moves out to ‘take some space’ from Jax Taylor

Cartwright, 35, confirmed in late February that she and Taylor, 44, had hit a snag in their relationship. She decided to move into a different house to “take some space” and figure out what she wants.

Some fans of Bravo speculated that the separation was a publicity stunt for their new reality show 'The Valley' which will premiere on March 19.

The show will follow the lives of Cartwright, Taylor, and their friends in the San Fernando Valley.

The show host Andy Cohen also referred to the fan speculation about their show and separation being a promotional stunt, asking Lala if there was any reality attached to it. However, Kent dismissed the rumors and said that the couple did not need any drama to boost their ratings.

“They don’t need any help. They’re all a hot mess. They don’t need separations,” she joked.

Jax Taylor claims that he and Brittany Cartwright are still ‘together’ and ‘working things out’

Taylor, who left 'Vanderpump Rules' in 2020 along with Cartwright, has insisted that they are still “together” and “living in their home right now.”

He told PageSix on February 29 that their separation was not “evil or nastiness,” but rather a way to re-assess their situation after 10 years of being together.

“We’re just spending some time apart and just trying to re-assess, you know, our situation. We have a child involved, and we just wanna do what’s best for our kid,” he said.

Brittany Cartwright wants Jax Taylor to change 

Cartwright, on the other hand, has hinted that she is waiting for Taylor to change some aspects of his life before making a final decision.

She told TMZ on Friday, March 1, that she loves Taylor very much, but she also wants the best for herself and her son.

“I’ve asked him for a while to do certain things and nothing has come from that yet, so you know, hopefully. … Listen, I love Jax so much, I really do, and I want the best for me and for my son at this point,” she said.

She added, “That’s my main focus, but for sure, if he switches some things and changes some things about his life then maybe we can get back together. But, right now, I just, I don’t know.”
