The move was seen by many as unnecessary censorship on the part of the Las Vegas Raiders

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Las Vegas Raiders drew criticism from fans online for abruptly ending rookie tight end Brock Bowers' press meet after he was questioned about his Donald Trump dance celebration on the field on Sunday, November 17, reported Marca.

Bowers performed exceptionally in the game against the Miami Dolphins, with 13 receptions for 126 yards and a touchdown. The Raiders claimed that it was the most catches by a rookie tight end in NFL history since 1960.

However, he also made the headlines for performing the now-popular dance moves of President-elect Donald Trump on the field to celebrate his touchdown.

Fans and broadcasters caught the moment live and the Raiders uploaded the clip on X. However, the team apparently shut down questions when Bowers was asked about the moment during a post-game presser.

The Dolphins beat the Raiders 34-19 on Sunday to win their second straight game.

How did Las Vegas Raiders end Brock Bowers' presser?

During the interview, Brock Bowers addressed the dance saying, "I saw Jon Jones do it in the UFC fight last night. I thought it was cool, so I decided to try it."

He was referring to the UFC 309 that took place at the Madison Square Garden arena in New York the previous night on Saturday, November 16, where heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones celebrated in a similar way in front of Donald Trump who had come to watch the fight.

However, when a reporter attempted to follow up on the response, a PR representative of the team abruptly concluded the interview. The move was seen by many as unnecessary censorship on the part of the Raiders, as the question was seemingly lighthearted.

President-elect Trump was often seen dancing at rallies during his 2024 campaign and after his win in the election, his dance moves seem to have become popular among people.

While the Trump dance is considered polarizing for its association with the controversial business tycoon-turned-politician, critics said the Raiders' handling of the situation only amplified the negative attention.

Internet slams Las Vegas Raiders for cutting off Brock Bowers' interview

Social media users, especially conservatives, slammed the Las Vegas Raiders for cutting off the interview of Brock Bowers when he was questioned about his  Donald Trump dance.

"Why are the raiders so scared😭😭" wrote a user.

"So the NFL is woke huh? Or is it just the Raiders? Their fanbase is a lot tougher than their management is," shared another.

"They don’t want everyone to know how much support Trump has in the NFL. People just love him, get used to it!" jibed a user.

"Embrace it! You can’t stop what’s coming," another said.

"So weird to do this. Who gives af..jon jones did it yesterday. It's funny," noted an individual.

"Embarrassing behavior from the Raiders organization," chided one user.
