WASHINGTON, DC: Rapper Nicki Minaj’s appearance alongside Donald Trump drew public attention and mixed reactions. The discussion intensified when TV host Laura Ingraham mistakenly confused Nicki Minaj with Cardi B.

The mix-up quickly triggered criticism and online mockery, with viewers pointing out the error across social media. Laura Ingraham corrected herself soon after a producer informed her of the mistake, but the incident continued to circulate.

Nicki Minaj had visited the White House to promote Trump’s child investment account initiative. Social media was not kind to Laura Ingraham at all. They trolled her brutally.

Laura Ingraham mixes up Nicki Minaj with Cradi B

The Fox News host, known for supporting Trump, became a topic of discussion as soon as she made the blunder on-air. During the broadcast, Laura Ingraham incorrectly credited Cardi B’s song 'WAP' to Nicki Minaj.

She later corrected herself on air, saying, "Oh, that's Cardi B. Oh, that's Cardi B. That's how bad I am. Thank you, Sam. I stand corrected." After acknowledging the error, she went on to praise Minaj, stating, "She is incredibly talented, and she is now bridging this gap from her world to Trump world."

The mistake occurred only hours after Nicki Minaj publicly endorsed the “Trump Accounts” initiative. The program is a billionaire-backed savings and investment plan that provides $1,000 to children at birth.

The mix-up drew more attention because Nicki Minaj has recently gained support from MAGA followers, while Cardi B is known as her longtime rival. The mistake quickly became a topic of online jokes and criticism.

CNN political commentator Bakari Sellers also reacted, saying, “We all look alike,” referring to his own experience of being confused with another Black commentator by right-wing media.

Nicki Minaj declares support for Trump and displays a gold card

Nicki Minaj publicly described herself as Trump’s “number one fan” and shared images of her Trump-issued “gold card” visa. The visa is said to offer residency and a possible route to US citizenship.

The rapper appeared with Trump after voicing her support for the “Trump Accounts” program, which creates trust funds for children. Although she had previously criticized  Trump’s strict immigration policies, Minaj has spoken positively about his leadership in recent years.

"I will say that I am probably the president's number one fan, and that's not going to change," said Minaj, who was seen holding hands with Trump on the podium.

"And the hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more." She later shared photos of the gold card on X (formerly Twitter), which features Donald Trump’s face, posting the caption: "Welp."
