WASHINGTON, DC: Laura Loomer, a controversial White nationalist and former favorite of Donald Trump for a campaign role, has ignited a firestorm on social media by making inflammatory comments about late Representative Sheila Jackson Lee, as per The Daily Beast.

Loomer’s posts, which many have condemned as deeply racist, have drawn sharp rebukes across social media.

Jackson Lee, a progressive congresswoman known for her advocacy for civil and women’s rights, passed away on Friday evening, July 19, at the age of 74 after battling pancreatic cancer.

In response to Jackson Lee's passing, Laura Loomer took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to post a series of derogatory comments.

"Even on her death bed, this ghetto b***h couldn’t keep President Trump’s name out of her disgusting mouth," Loomer wrote, referencing a recent post by Jackson Lee that criticized Trump.

Loomer continued her tirade, stating, "Sheila Jackson Lee will be remembered as a destructive force in America and one of the most low IQ members of Congress in the history of our nation."

These comments sparked immediate outrage on social media. Users were quick to label Loomer’s remarks as racist and offensive, including Representative Ritchie Torres, a former colleague of Jackson Lee in the Congressional Black Caucus.

"These are the words of a rabid racist who represents everything that is rancid and rotten about the far right. There is a special place in hell for Laura Loomer," Torres responded on X.

Former Representative Adam Kinzinger also weighed in, saying simply, "I don’t think ‘heaven bound’ people tweet things like this."

Despite the backlash, Loomer doubled down on her comments, stating, "I meant every word I said," and "everything I said about Sheila Jackson Lee is true."

Loomer, originally from Arizona, has built a reputation as a far-right activist. She has worked with right-wing organizations such as The Rebel Media and Project Veritas and is known for promoting various conspiracy theories.

Loomer has made several inflammatory statements in the past, including calling Islam "a cancer" and urging rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft to ban Muslim drivers.

Loomer’s controversial views have often intersected with her political ambitions. She ran for Congress in Florida’s 11th Congressional District in 2022, a campaign that garnered the early support of Trump but ultimately ended in defeat to incumbent Representative Daniel Webster.
