GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN: Former president Donald Trump doubled down on his ignorance about the controversial Project 2025 and claimed that he did not know anything about it.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Saturday, July 20, at his first joint event with his vice presidential pick, Senator JD Vance, the Republican nominee, labeled the initiative "far-right" and "extreme," Mediaite reported.

Launched by the Heritage Foundation and 50 conservative groups, it is a presidential transition agenda to pave the way for the next conservative POTUS. Various conservative groups, including a number of former White House aides under Trump's administration, created the 900-plus page document to consolidate power for the real estate mogul if he won the November election.

Donald Trump claims he has no idea 'what the hell' Project 2025 is

Addressing his supporters, Donald Trump once again distanced himself from Project 2025, which has been receiving intense backlash in recent weeks due to its extremely conservative stance on issues like abortion restrictions.

"Some on the right, severe right, came up with this Project 25 and I don't even know. I mean, some of them I know who they are, but they're very very conservative," the MAGA spearhead said. He further asserted the "radical left" came up with it.

"I don't know what the hell it is. It's Project 25. He's involved in Project 25. And then they read some of the things that they are extreme, that seriously extreme," he added, mistakenly calling Project 2025 "Project 25."

"But I don't know anything about it. I don't want to know anything about it, "Trump claimed. Earlier this month, he argued on Truth Social that he knew "nothing" about the conservative Heritage Foundation's initiative and disagreed with its "ridiculous" proposals.

In a recent Detroit campaign speech, President Joe Biden condemned Project 2025 as the "biggest attack" on government and personal freedom, claiming it was run and funded by Trump's associates.

According to its website, the four pillars of the initiative included a manifesto for the forthcoming GOP president, a recruitment program for loyal ones desiring to serve in the administration, training for the new recruits, and precise transition plans for the first 180 days of the new government.

Internet denounces Donald Trump for acting ignorant about Project 2025

Donald Trump's ignorance about the contentious Project 2025 led to an online outrage. Netizens pointed out that many of its authors served in his administration and that he was lying, fearing it would backfire.

"Liar Its author will be in his administration," one social media user wrote.

"Trump is experiencing some cognitive decline here, not remembering that a lot of the authors served in his administration, and also referring to it as 'Project 25' instead of 'Project 2025,'" another remarked.

"The man is running for president and he is honestly saying he doesn't know what a massively divisive initiative is? One that his own party is pushing? This isn't even logical to lie like this," one individual said.

"He's. A. liar. He knows it will cost him the election and his freedom. Too late , he's wearing it like an anchor around his neck," another added.

"Well, you are mentioned in it 398 times. That seems like you know more than you're lying about right now," one person commented.

"If it's your people with plans for your administration, isn't it pretty spineless to claim to not want to know anything about it?" another asked.

"What a liar! His name's all over P2025 & Agenda 47! Just because HE hasn't read it so he can have "plausible deniability," doesn't mean it doesn't exist & he doesn't intend to implement it on Day 1! He even talks about it, although he doesn't CALL it Project 2025. Same policies!" one person argued.

"That’s weird bc a ton of ppl who worked with him and/or fininaxially support his campaign have a pretty big hand in it. But now he wants to play the ignorance card," another added.
