LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lauren Sanchez, a former news anchor and Emmy Award-winning journalist, is looking forward to her upcoming wedding to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

The 54-year-old, known for her active involvement in climate change activism and space exploration, recently opened up about her wedding plans during an appearance on the 'Today' show on November 20.

When asked about her wedding preparations during the show, Lauren Sanchez revealed her enthusiasm, despite juggling a busy schedule.

“With the book tour—and you know making these grantees has taken up a lot of my time,” she said, referring to her children’s book 'The Fly Who Flew to Space' and the $110 million in grants announced by Bezos’ Day 1 Families Fund for nonprofits combating homelessness.

"And then the holidays…” she added, prompting co-host Hoda Kotb to respond, “You’ll get to it.”

Sanchez replied with confidence, “No, I’m getting to it right now. Very excited about it. Thinking about the dress, I have to say. I do have a Pinterest."

"I’m just like every other bride, so I do have a Pinterest board,” she said, speaking about her wedding planning, per Daily Beast.

Lauren Sanchez expressed her life achievements and the unexpected joy of reaching new milestones at her age.

“I never thought at 54—I’m going to be 55—that I’d be an author, that I’d be getting married,” she shared.

“I mean, life is just beginning. When I was 20, I thought: ‘Oh my gosh, life is over at 50.’ Let me tell you, it is not, ladies. It is not over; it is just beginning," she said.

“It just gets better and better. And I always say, when women are like, ‘Oh, what is it like turning 50?’ It’s just the beginning.”

Beyond her wedding plans, Lauren Sanchez is preparing to lead an all-female expedition into space.

While she didn’t disclose who would be joining her, she stressed the importance of calling them "explorers."

Despite their glamorous lifestyle, the couple also cherishes quieter moments at home.

“My favorite time is when the house is calm and quiet and Jeff and I are deciding what show we’re going to binge that night,” she told People in August.

Sanchez and Bezos, engaged since May 2023, have been together since going public with their relationship in 2019.
