NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Journalist and philanthropist Lauren Sanchez appeared less than chuffed when asked about her wedding plans with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos on the Wednesday, November 20, 2024, episode of 'Today'.

Sanchez was invited on the show by hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie to talk about her philanthropy work to fight homelessness in partnership with her billionaire fiance, as well as her plans to go on a space trip with an all-female crew.

According to the Daily Beast, Sanchez was talking about how space trips had been "very impactful" for her partner when Guthrie inquired about the progress of the couple's wedding plans.

Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos, who were first reported to be dating in 2019, have been engaged since May 2023.

On Wednesday morning when Guthrie asked Sanchez if they were having fun planning their wedding, she let out a small cry and looked away, before answering, "So you asked…”

“With the book tour—we talked about the book tour—and you know making these grantees has taken up a lot of my time. And then the holidays…" she began, with Kotb interrupting, "You’ll get to it.”

“No, I’m getting to it right now,” Sánchez continued. “Very excited about it. Thinking about the dress, I have to say. I do have a Pinterest. I’m just like every other bride, so I do have a Pinterest board.”

“I never thought at 54—I’m going to be 55—that I’d be an author, that I’d be getting married,” she added. “I mean life is just beginning. When I was 20, I thought: ‘Oh my gosh, life is over at 50.’ Let me tell you, it is not, ladies. It is not over, it is just beginning.”
