Leah Remini and Angelo Pagan's fortune up in air as actress sold off LA mansion before filing for divorce
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Leah Remini and her husband of 21 years, Angelo Pagan, have decided to separate.
The actress filed for divorce from Pagan on Thursday, August 29, just a week after her close friend Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from her husband of two years, Ben Affleck.
As Remini and Pagan are ending their marriage after two decades, many fans are left wondering what will happen to their assets.
An insight into Leah Remini and Angelo Pagan's fortune
Leah Remini - who made a fortune playing Carrie Heffernan in CBS' 'The King of Queens' from 1998 to 2007 - has an estimated net worth of $25 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth. She starred in the popular sitcom alongside Kevin James.
For the last two seasons of the show, the 54-year-old reportedly made around $400,000 per episode, according to Daily Mail. It is, however, not known how much the actress currently receives as a residual payment for the show.
Remini reunited with James for the sitcom 'Kevin Can Wait', almost ten years after their hit show came to an end. However, 'Kevin Can Wait' was canceled by CBS in 2018 after just two seasons.
Apart from 'The King of Queens', Remini also has quite a few acting credits by her name, including 'Second Act' with her friend Lopez.
She also received royalties from her best-selling 2015 memoir 'Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology'.
On the other hand, Remini's husband, Pagan - known for his roles in 'Swordfish' and 'Almost a Woman' - reportedly has a net worth of $25 million. He has also guest-starred in several episodes of 'The Kings of Queens'.
Apart from his acting credits, the 56-year-old is a restaurateur who owns a popular Los Angeles brunch spot Vivian's Millennium Cafe with Remini's stepfather, George Marshall.
The couple starred on the TLC reality show 'Leah Remini: It's All Relative', sharing the screen with Remini's mother, Vicki Marshall, sister, Shannon Farrara, and stepfather, Geroge. The show ran for two seasons between 2014 and 2015.
It is not known whether the couple signed a prenuptial agreement before their marriage, thus leaving fans in the dark about how their joint assets might be split.
Leah Remini sold off her Studio City mansion before filing for divorce
Leah Remini and Angelo Pagan dated for seven years before they tied the knot in a Church of Scientology ceremony in Las Vegas in 2003. They, however, parted ways with the religion a decade later.
In 2003 itself, the 'Cheers' actress bought a six-bedroom, eight-bathroom, 10,100-square-foot home in Studio City, California for $3,750,000, as per In Touch. However, just a month before the divorce filing, she finally offloaded the property after initially listing it in 2023.
After their daughter Sofia Bella Pagan, 20, left for college in 2023, Remini listed her house for $12,499,000. She finally sold the property for $9,300,000 last month, after lowering the price twice in a year.
Remini and Pagan announced their separation in a joint statement on Instagram, writing, "Well, here we are. After 28 years together and 21 years of marriage, we have decided to file for divorce."
They added, "This decision came after a lot of thought and care, and as hard as divorce is, we are approaching this with a positive outlook because we know it’s what’s best for us. We are proud of how we have worked through this together."
The couple even touched upon the sensitive subject of the reason behind their separation.
"So, the big question—why? To put it simply, we both changed, as people do, and we got used to playing roles that didn’t fit us anymore," explained Remini and Pagan.

They continued, "After a lot of effort and consideration, we’ve decided to take this step, which reflects who we are today. Our bond is still strong—it’s just evolved into something different. We think a marriage that lasted this long and created so many beautiful memories, especially raising our incredible daughter, is something to celebrate."
Despite the impending divorce, Remini and Pagan declared their marriage a "huge success."
