LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Leighton Meester is finally getting the recognition she deserves, declared fans of ‘Gossip Girl’.

As the ‘Gossip Girl’ star Leighton Meester, 38, walked the red carpet of the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, February 23, fans could not help but declare that the actress has had the last laugh!

As her former co-star and fellow ‘Gossip Girl’ alum Blake Lively, 37, is grappling with her own legal troubles, the internet declared that it is high time that Meester - who portrayed the role of Blair Waldorf - gets her due, per Daily Mail.

Leighton Mester became star of the show at the SAG Awards

The Sunday’s award function became a mini-reunion for the ‘Gossip Girl’ star sans Blake Lively, who did not attend the show amid her ongoing legal tussle with ‘It Ends With Us’ co-star Justin Baldoni.

Nevertheless, that did not stop the other stars - including Meester and Kristen Bell - who also hosted the SAG Awards - from enjoying the mini-reunion.

Bell, who narrated the teen drama, once again shared the screen with the ‘Monte Carlo’ actress during the show. The 44-year-old ‘Frozen’ actress also took part in a skit during the show which was reminiscent of ‘Gossip Girl’.

In the evening, her voice boomed from the loudspeaker, as Bell was heard saying, 'Hey everyone, Gossip Girl here. One of my sources, Lainey86, sends me this: Spotted, at table 8, Jeff Goldblum has a wicked appetite and a peek behind the curtain reveals he likes his green eggs with ham,” when the camera cut to Goldblum.

She continued, “And look who it is, not-so-lonely boy Timothee Chalamet sitting next to a hot steak, medium rare, au poivre, with a side of broccoli,” as the ‘Dune’ star looked amused.

Then the screen panned to Bell, who was seen reading jokes from her phone while crouching next to her former co-star Meester’s table.

Bell continued, “Leighton, none of this is gossip,” before adding, “It's just all about food.”

‘That’s My Boy’ star, who was munching on a bread roll, responded to the quip, saying she was “really hungry” as she continued to eat.

Bell further quipped, “The popes in Conclave were better at gossiping than us,” before adding, “I think we should pass the torch,” as Meester concluded, “Amen.”

Meester was accompanied by her husband Adam Brody, who also shared the stage with Bell during the award show.
