Liam Gallagher hits back at 'SNL' over 'excruciating' Oasis skit covering feud with brother Noel

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has strongly reacted to 'Saturday Night Live’s sketch of his feud with brother and band member Noel Gallagher.

During a question-and-answer session with fans over the X platform, one user asked Liam about ‘SNL’s latest performance. “Excruciating,” the artist replied.

He further hit back at the show’s jibe at the infamous feud, “I wouldn’t expect anything else from them. Are they meant to be comedians.”

During the Weekend Update segment of the show, ‘SNL’ cast members Sarah Sherman and James Austin Johnson enacted the brothers' character, and mocked the artists’ British accents while they teased each other about who was “cooler.”

Liam and Noel maintained intense relationships since forming the band together and recently reunited after splitting in 2009, reported NBC News.

The Gallagher brothers will be touring in 2025, almost after 19 years, confirmed their official website.

The netizens were quick to share their thoughts on Liam's response to the recent sketch. Several users called out that the performance was below par, however, a few also enjoyed it.

A person said on X, "It’s shite… like most SNL sketches," while someone else said, "You have to admit the SNL skit of you and Noel is pretty funny."

"Useless ones. Can't even do the Manchester accent pair of t*ats!!" an individual felt.

"That was not well performed! Tacky Tacky Tacky," another wrote. 

A person chimed online, "That's not how you both act at all. Obviously, they've never seen an Oasis interview."

"This was just fun - I can't believe the thin skin, not just on Liam but on the fans here! It's free publicity. Nobody believes it and they weren't trying to do authentic accents. It's just an SNL sketch," one defended.
