Liam Payne’s neighbor recalls late singer’s kind gesture during break-in: ‘He has been no trouble’
BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, ENGLAND: After the tragic death of Liam Payne at the age of 31, his neighbor Thomas Evans recounts a touching story of the late singer's kindness and support during a difficult time.
A college student, Evans, who resides on St Turners Wood Drive in Chalfont St Giles, fondly remembered when Payne came to check on his family after an intruder attempted to break into their home.

Thomas Evans said the event occurred six months prior when he was at home with his older brother, older sister, and a friend, per BBC.
“At about half past 2 am, we saw a shadow through the window and realized there was an intruder on our driveway. There was quite a commotion," 17-year-old Evans said.
Evans recalled how in the midst of the turmoil, Payne was alerted by the noise and rushed to help.
“Liam just heard some kids shouting and, bless him, he came over. He didn’t have to.”

Around an hour later, Payne made his appearance, donning a top hat, an overcoat, and checkered trousers. He inquired about the family's well-being.
“He told us, ‘I heard some shouting and screaming, are you okay?’ We called the police and he stayed with us until they arrived. We had small talk, just to calm us down,” the college student said.
He mentioned that a friend of Payne had also flown a drone over the area to "see if he could catch the intruder".
“It was all sorted in the end. But that’s just one example of him being a really nice guy,” the teenager said. “I want to put some positive things about him out there. There has never been any negativity from him, ever."
He further added, “He has kept his private life. People respected that. He has been absolutely no trouble.”
The neighbor said Payne's death "still doesn’t feel real".
Payne died after falling from the third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Wednesday, October 16.
Cheryl Cole reflects on Liam Payne's tragic death
Thomas Evans surmised Liam Payne relocated to the area to be closer to his seven-year-old son Bear, whom he shared with former partner Cheryl Cole.
On October 18, the 'Girls Aloud' singer expressed on Instagram her commitment to protecting her son following his father's tragic death.
“As I try to navigate this earth-shattering event, and work through my own grief at this indescribably painful time, I’d like to kindly remind everyone that we have lost a human being,” she wrote.

“Liam was not only a pop star and celebrity, he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend and a father to our seven-year-old son. A son that now has to face the reality of never seeing his father again,” the post read.
