Kate Cassidy, 25, attended Liam Payne's funeral on Wednesday, November 20, accompanied by their mutual friend Damian Hurley. She donned a black fur-lined coat and black sunglasses for the occasion, per The Mirror US.
She joined Payne's family and friends, along with his One Direction bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan, in laying the singer to rest during a service at a 12th-century church in the English countryside, northwest of London.
Cassidy and the singer of 'Strip That Down' were initially connected in October 2022. Despite keeping their relationship mostly private, he made occasional appearances in Cassidy's Instagram and TikTok posts.
Shortly after Payne's death on October 16, Cassidy disclosed that they had envisioned their future together just weeks prior. She shared a note on Instagram that Payne had penned, expressing his wish to become engaged and marry Cassidy within the year.

"I keep your note close, even though you told me not to look at it. It said, 'Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged & together forever 444,'" she conveyed this through a message emphasized in her Instagram carousel post.
“My heart is shattered in ways I can’t put into words. I wish you could see the huge impact you’ve had on the world, even as it feels so dark right now,” she wrote.
Cassidy further added, “You are — because I can’t say were — my best friend, the love of my life, and everyone you touched felt just as special as I did. None of this feels real, and I can’t wrap my head around this new reality of not having you here. I’m struggling to figure out how to live in a world without you by my side."
"Together, we got to be kids again, always finding joy in the smallest things,” she went on to explain.
She ended her post by declaring her love for Payne. "Liam, I know we'll be together forever, but not in the way we had planned," she shared. "You'll always be with me. I've gained a guardian angel. I will love you for the rest of my life and beyond, carrying our dreams and memories with me everywhere I go."
