Lisa Bonet seeks joint custody of children, files for divorce from Jason Momoa 2 years after breakup
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Two years after Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa announced their breakup, the 56-year-old actress has officially filed for divorce from the 'Aquaman' actor.
Listing their date of separation as October 7, 2020, Bonet has filed for a dissolution of marriage.

As per court documents obtained by People, she cited irreconcilable differences as the reason behind their separation. Bonet has sought joint child custody and no spousal support for either side, as per the filing.

In a joint statement shared in January 2022, the now estranged couple who tied the knot on October 7, 2017, disclosed they were separating.
Bonet who is a mother to actress Zoe Kravitz with ex-husband Lenny Kravitz is also mother to two children, 16-year-old daughter Lola and 15-year-old Nakoa-Wolf.
In the joint statement issued when the couple announced their split, they shared, "We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times."

"A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring. And so, we share our Family news that we are parting ways in marriage," they continued.
The duo expressed that they were sharing the news "not because we think it's newsworthy but so that as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty."
"The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other to be who we are learning to become," they stated.
"Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life our children. Teaching our children what's possible. Living the Prayer. May Love Prevail," the couple added.

Inside Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa's relationship
Momoa and Bonet had been together for a long time since early 2000s when they met through a mutual acquaintance.
Despite having been together for a long time, the two married in 2017. On 'The Late Late Show', Momoa previously said he had a crush on Bonet since he was eight years old.

"Ever since I was like, eight years old and I saw her on the TV, I was like, ‘Mommy, I want that one, I’m like, I’m going to stalk you for the rest of my life and I’m going to get you,'" he said at the time.
Following their breakup in January 2022, the couple appeared to remain amicable as Momoa stated in March 2022 that he and Bonet were "still family."
