LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Machine Gun Kelly, celebrated for his 2012 hit album 'Lace Up', is now making headlines for a deeply personal reason.

In a recent podcast episode, he revealed that his 15-year-old daughter, Casie, played a pivotal role in his journey to sobriety. 

The rock star detailed how Casie's support and encouragement were instrumental in helping him stay committed to his decision to get sober. Casie, who he shares with ex Emma Cannon, has proven to be a significant source of strength and inspiration in his life.

During the August 18 episode of the 'Million Dollaz Worth of Game' podcast, the 34-year-old rapper revealed that a pivotal conversation with his daughter Casie prompted him to get sober.

Kelly shared on the podcast, “It started with my daughter saying, 'Dad, you know I can tell when you're high?' It broke my heart.”

“It was the ultimate letdown,” he added, noting that Casie was only around 11 or 12 at the time. “It took me a while afterward, because obviously drugs have a vice grip on you,” he continued.

“That was step one for me. As a father and as a man, to be the father I wish my dad would have been, I have to break this generational curse for my kid.”

Earlier this month, Kelly revealed he's been sober for a year during an appearance on Bunnie Xo’s 'Dumb Blonde' podcast.

The musician discussed his struggles with mental health and substance abuse, stating, “I’m completely sober from everything. I don’t drink anymore. I haven't drank since last August. That was my first time I ever went to rehab.”

Kelly disclosed that he had previously struggled with alcohol, marijuana, and pills.

In July, Kelly gave fans a rare glimpse into his life as a father by celebrating his daughter’s 15th birthday with a heartfelt Instagram tribute. The post featured a photo of the father-daughter duo under a giant pink heart-shaped balloon arch with the letters “HBD Casie.”

“The world spins but when i look at you it stops. Happy 15th princess.” he captioned the post. 

The tribute included several more photos of Casie through the years, showcasing moments like fixing her dad’s mohawk, playing his guitar, attending a basketball game together, relaxing on the beach, and riding a motorcycle.
