During a recent episode of the MTV show, the ‘Sweet Baby’ singer revealed that she was having shortness of breath and difficulty in moving, per Daily Mail.
Gray shared, “It's really hard to catch my breath. This sucks because I'm here all the way in Colombia and I really just want to give it my all, but I just feel awful and I just want it to go away.”
The songstress continued, “This is not going well,” and explained, “I can't even walk very much without losing my breath.”
Soon, she was rushed to the medic, when Macysaid, “Last time I felt like this, I had to go to the hospital.” The ‘I Try’ singer added, “I'm just tired.”
The medic, however, sounded grave, saying, “You are taking some medicine that can affect your pancreas. Your pancreas can't fight.”
Following the medic’s assessment that Macy should visit the hospital, she was taken to the facility’s emergency room in a wheelchair amid growing concern. After she was taken to the doctor, Chet Hanks - Tom Hanks’ son and Macy-s co-contestant in the reality series - revealed Macy’s health condition to the rest of the housemates.
He revealed, “She went to the hospital,” and noted, “She hasn't been eating.”
‘X Factor’ alum Ally Brooke chimed in, “I know why,” and explained, “It's the shot. That's what happens, that's literally what happened to my friends.”
Ally later added during the confessional, “I'm familiar with the Ozempic craze and I've definitely heard of the side effects that Macy is having... so I feel for her.”
Macy Gray opened up about her Ozempic journey
During an episode last week, Macy opened up about her Ozempic journey and talked about what inspired her to undergo the ordeal. Talking to her co-stars Kim Zolciak and Johnny Weir, ‘My Nutmeg Phantasy’ singer shared, “Oh boy, my stomach hurts. I've just been really constipated.”
She revealed, “I took Ozempic. I can't go to the bathroom, and I was up all night.”
When Zolciak noted, “Ozempic does that,” Macy replied, “Last night it hurt.”
She further continued, “I go on tour after this, so I was trying to lose weight really fast.”
Later, during a confessional. She revealed, “Quietly, I'm kind of a vain person. I've gained a lot of weight over the past couple years, and this is right about the time when everybody starts talking about this Ozempic.”
“So, I thought, okay, I'm not taking it off the right way, let me see if I can get one of these Ozempic,” continued the star, before adding, “I was actually trying to take it off [the weight] before the show because I didn't want to be super fat on TV, but here we are.”
Internet cautions Macy Gray about Ozempic side effects
The internet soon it took upon itself to caution Macy about the side effects of the weight loss drug. They even persuaded her to stop taking the drug.
One of the readers commented online, "Ozempic is first and foremost a diabetes medication, designed to manage blood sugar levels with those who have type 2 diabetes. The weight loss is the extra side effect, but if you DONT have diabetes and take this MEDICINE - it may have drastic side effects affecting your health."
Someone else said, "Why would you risk all these side effects for a weight loss drug that will pack on the pounds again once you stop taking it??? Just go to the gym, exercise, and stay within your macros, calories, and the weight will stay off. Ozempic is not a sustainable weight loss program. Why risk you health? There is no easy way to keep weight off."
Another fan added in retribution, "Jeeeze! All those side effects. I’d rather be a bit fat than risk kidney damage and god knows what else. Seriously though, why put yourself through all that just for the sake of a dress two inches smaller?"
"Vanity has its price and it will be collected," said someone else.
Another fan noted, "People don't know the risks and side effects because the media and celebs tout this as a cure all. there are a LOT of bad side effects."
"It’s not worth it. Famous people who are on this for weightloss can afford chefs and trainers. But most importantly they need therapists for their food issues," declared someone else.
A social media user chimed in, "Always the search for the magic pill and boy do these companies continue to make millions off Americans."
"Maybe just maybe she needs stop taking it, just a thought," noted someone else.
