Marcello Hernandez reveals 'most surprising' guest he spotted at Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce wedding

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Marcello Hernandez is still surprised by one of the most unexpected moments from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, revealing that meeting Tom Cruise at the star-studded ceremony left a lasting impression.

His comments came during an appearance on ‘Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen’. The couple tied the knot on Friday, July 3, in an intimate ceremony attended by around 1000 guests, with Adam Sandler officiating the wedding.

When asked about the “most surprising thing” he saw at the wedding, Hernandez immediately named Cruise as his answer. The comedian admitted that he got the chance to speak with the ‘Mission: Impossible’ star and found a personal connection during their conversation.

“The most surprising thing I saw at the wedding was Tom Cruise,” Hernandez shared, adding, “I got to talk to Tom Cruise, and he grew up in a house full of women, and we got to relate about that.” Before he could explain more about the interaction, fellow comedian Kevin Hart interrupted and joked that Hernandez had experienced even more than he was sharing.

Hart referred to reports about the wedding’s strict no-phone rule and recalled him sending him videos from the event. “You were like, ‘Kev, I can’t believe this. There’s no phones allowed but look, I snuck mine in.’ Right, remember?” Hart said.

Hernandez quickly denied the claim while laughing, responding, “I didn’t do that! Hey, yo, Trav, I did not do that!” He was not the only guest who was impressed by Cruise’s presence at the wedding.

Sports commentator Joe Buck also spoke about meeting the actor, describing the Madison Square Garden ceremony as a “pretty surreal” experience because of the amount of star power present. “Being 57 years old, to get to talk to Tom Cruise for 20 minutes was better than any part of the entire night to me, other than watching them get married,” He shared.

Greg Olsen remembers Tom Cruise’s memorable interaction

Former NFL tight end and longtime friend of Travis Kelce, Greg Olsen, also recalled his interaction with Tom Cruise during the wedding. Olsen shared that Cruise complimented his hat while he was waiting in line to use the restroom during cocktail hour.

Olsen remembered hearing someone say, “Hey, hey… dude, I love your hat.” When he turned around, he realized it was Cruise. “I was like, ‘Thank you, man. How nice is it to meet you, Tom Cruise,’” he recalled.

He described the moment as surprising, explaining that Cruise went out of his way to compliment his hat and have a brief conversation despite the many athletes, entertainers and musicians around them. Olsen also joked about the encounter, clarifying that he had washed his hands before shaking Cruise’s hand.

“But that was kind of like a, ‘Did I just shoot the shot with Tom Cruise?’” Olsen said. The former NFL player also credited Swift and Kelce’s strict no-phones policy for helping create an atmosphere where guests could relax and enjoy the celebration without cameras around.

“Some people know each other, some people don’t know each other. So, you know, just a really unique crowd of fun people,” Olsen shared and added, “I think the environment that was created, no phones, no cameras everyone could just be themselves, enjoy the night, enjoy Travis and Taylor.”
