WASHINGTON, DC: Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene praised Nancy Pelosi for her long career and years of service in Congress during an appearance on CNN.

Her remarks came just hours after the former House Speaker announced she would not seek reelection in 2026 on Thursday, November 6. Greene’s comments also followed Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s claim that the Republican Congresswoman was on a “revenge tour” against President Donald Trump.

Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke positively about Nancy Pelosi’s long career in the House of Representatives. In her interview with CNN, Greene said she respected Pelosi’s efficiency, even though they belong to opposing political parties.

“She had an incredible career for her party,” the 51-year-old said. “I served under her speakership in my first term of Congress, and I'm very impressed at her ability to get things done.”

Greene added, “I wish [Republicans] could get things done for our party like Nancy Pelosi was able to deliver for her party. So I wish her well in her retirement.”

During her four years in Congress, the Georgia Republican has often clashed with Democratic lawmakers and supported far-right and MAGA views. However, after the Trump administration avoided releasing the Epstein files despite public pressure, Greene has started to criticize her own party and appears more open to different viewpoints.

AOC says Marjorie Taylor Greene is on a 'revenge tour' against Trump

Earlier this month, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez offered her explanation for Marjorie Taylor Greene’s apparent political shift.

“Here’s some tea for you,” the 36-year-old said during a long Instagram Live session on Monday. “MTG, people are like, ‘Oh my God, she’s saying all these things, like, what’s gotten into her lately?’ ‘Oh, like, she’s bucking against Trump, she’s bucking against the administration..’”

Ocasio-Cortez then told her viewers, “Trump said no, and the White House and Trump Land shut down Marjorie Taylor Greene’s personal ambitions to run for Senate, and she has been on a revenge tour ever since.”

In May, Georgia’s Republican Governor Brian Kemp announced he would not run for Senate in 2026, leading many to believe Greene was eyeing the seat. A few days later, she denied the rumors in a lengthy social media post.

During her appearance on 'The View' on Tuesday, Greene insisted she still supports Trump. “Nothing has changed about me,” the Georgia Congresswoman said. “I am staying absolutely 100% true to the people that voted for me, and true to my district.”
