NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene posted a clip from her interview on the Tucker Carlson Network, where she emphasized that the American people possess the power to halt the government when they determine they've reached their limit, on Thursday, April 4, via X (formerly Twitter).

However, netizens did not reciprocate her enthusiasm for a government shutdown and instead trolled her in response to her post on the social media platform.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's tweet

In the clip shared by the US Representative of Georgia, she can be seen telling her host, Tucker Carlson, "The American people can stop our government... when they decide it is important enough for them when they realize within 10 years, CBO has projected that we will be approximately $55 trillion dollars in debt, at the current spending levels..."

"We are going to implode. If the American people finally decide they are tired of illegal aliens murdering them, ... squatting in their homes, ... raping women, ... and finally say no, they can stop it," she continued.

Greene also raised the issue of foreign funding, asserting that when Americans come to the realization that they've had enough, they would wield more power than a member of Congress.

"I think they should throw out every elected official," declared Greene, who happens to be one herself. "Every one of us should be thrown out. This government is a failure to the American people, and I am angry about it..."

Given the current state of the country, Greene expressed concern that future generations might "never be able to afford a home (and) have no strong financial future."

Internet reacts to Marjorie Taylor Greene's tweet

"Stop the government from what???? Fixing the border problem?????? Stop with your fake outrage bulls**t. What a HATEFUL woman you are. I feel bad for your colleagues!" exclaimed a user responding to MTG's tweet.

"Marge is a Confederate soldier, not an American public servant. She has taken over Congress and wants to destroy the nation from the inside. She admits it. Her public agenda is reinstalling a criminal traitor she’s obstructing justice for and breaking up the United States of America," slammed another user.

"I thought you were against de-funding the police @RepMTG?" jibed another user.

"You could help, resign," chided a user.

"Newflash MTG, you ARE the government," stated another user.
