LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Mark Hamill, known for his iconic role as Luke Skywalker in the 'Star Wars' saga, has never shied away from political commentary.

In a recent appearance during the 'White Dudes for Kamala Harris' fundraiser, Hamill didn't hold back in his criticism of former president Donald Trump.

The virtual event, designed to support Vice President Kamala Harris, saw Hamill making pointed remarks about Trump's political ambitions and leadership style, as per NBC News.

"They are so forthcoming with what they want to do. Get rid of the Department of Education completely. They are going to try and remake what we know as democracy into an autocracy," Mark Hamill stated during the call.

His critique extended to Trump's admiration for leaders with authoritarian tendencies. "It’s no surprise that he idolizes Viktor Orban and the dictators of the world. He has said it out loud that he wants to be a dictator, from day one," Hamill added.

These comments reflect Hamill's long-standing disapproval of Trump, whom he has frequently criticized on social media and in public forums. His latest remarks echo a broader concern among Trump's critics who fear a shift towards autocracy under his influence.

Hamill's disdain for Trump isn't new. The actor has been vocal about his opposition, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), where he often shares his thoughts on political matters.

One recent notable instance was when Hamill mocked Trump for wearing a large bandage on his right ear during the Republican National Convention, according to Newsweek.

"1st APPEARANCE of ludicrously oversized ear bandage, apparently not needed prior to tonight," Hamill tweeted, adding an ear emoji and a rolling on the floor laughing emoji.

This playful jab was just one of many instances where Hamill used humor to express his disapproval of Trump. His critiques often draw attention not only from fans but also from political observers and media outlets.

Trump's rhetoric has long been a source of controversy and concern.

During a December 2023 interview with Sean Hannity, Trump made a comment that many interpreted as a veiled threat of dictatorship. "Except for day one. I want to close the border, and I want to drill, drill, drill," Trump said, AP reported.

He later reenacted the exchange, emphasizing his desire for decisive action on specific issues.

"We love this guy. He says, 'You’re not going to be a dictator, are you?' I said: ‘No, no, no, other than day one. We’re closing the border, and we’re drilling, drilling, drilling. After that, I’m not a dictator,'" Trump recalled.
