Martha Stewart shares 'wild' filming experience with Matthew McConaughey: 'He got me scared actually'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Martha Stewart has shared her unexpected experience working with Matthew McConaughey, revealing that his intense approach to acting caught her off guard.
The lifestyle mogul, 83, collaborated with the Oscar-winning actor, 55, on a recent Super Bowl advertisement campaign for Uber Eats, where she admitted that his method acting techniques 'scared' her.

The commercial featured several celebrities, including Greta Gerwig, Kevin Bacon, and Charli XCX, exploring a humorous conspiracy theory that football exists to sell food.
However, Martha found McConaughey’s process to be more intense than she had anticipated.

Speaking to Kate Hudson on 'The Martha Stewart Podcast', Martha described the experience as 'wild' and admitted that she was taken aback by McConaughey’s acting style.
"He got me scared actually," Martha said on the show.
In the commercial, Martha played a board member of Uber Eats, making a Caesar salad, while McConaughey played multiple characters.
"He is a method actor, I think. Because he had to play 10 characters, and he got into each character, it takes him about 15 minutes," Martha said, according to Daily Mail.

Kate Hudson, who worked with Matthew McConaughey in 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' and 'Fool’s Gold', recalled his unique preparation method.
"And he'd make weird sounds. He makes sounds and does crazy things," Hudson said.

Martha agreed, explaining that his warm-up routine was something she wasn’t used to.
"He's grunting and breathing and jumping up and down. And that scared me," Martha added.
Kate then joked about how she had adjusted to McConaughey’s methods over time. "You get used to it… after like the first couple of weeks," she said.
Martha responded, "You probably just wanted to tell him to shut the hell up."

The commercial humorously suggests that even the word "bowl" was chosen because one can eat out of it.
As McConaughey investigates the origins of football, he claims it is part of a centuries-old conspiracy.
In the end, Gerwig declines McConaughey’s movie pitch, leaving his character disappointed.

Martha reiterated that McConaughey’s preparation techniques weren’t something she enjoyed.
"He's grunting and breathing and jumping up and down. And that scared me," Martha added.
