In January 2022, Fox and Kelly announced their engagement.
The 'Transformers' actress previously shared a video of Kelly proposing beneath a banyan tree, a place of personal significance for the couple.
“In July of 2020, we sat under this banyan tree,” she reflected in her now-deleted Instagram post.

After accepting Kelly's proposal, she wrote, “And then we drank each other’s blood. 1.11.22.”
Megan Fox's journey of loss

In an interview on 'Good Morning America', Fox revealed how the loss deeply affected both her and Kelly.
“I’ve never been through anything like that in my life,” she shared.
“I have three kids, so it was very difficult for both of us and it sent us on a very wild journey together and separately... trying to navigate, ‘What does this mean?’ and ‘Why did this happen?’” she added.
One of her poems recounts an ultrasound of a baby girl at 10 weeks, with lines, “maybe if you hadn't... maybe if i had...”
Other verses detail her grief, such as imagining holding the baby, “as they rip you from my insides,” and pleading for answers, “Tell me please / what is the ransom / for her soul?”
