Megan Thee Stallion is the latest famous name to back Kamala Harris

Born Megan Pete, Megan Thee Stallion is the most well-known figure to support Kamala Harris since she entered the presidential contest. Last Monday, July 22, President Joe Biden withdrew from the race and extended his support to Harris, stating that doing so was in the "best interest" of the Democratic Party and the nation.

A number of celebrities, including George Clooney, Barbra Streisand, Mark Hamill, and Spike Lee, quickly expressed their support for Harris at the time.

The event is Kamala Harris’ first trip to the battleground state since announcing her 2024 presidential campaign

Since declaring her 2024 presidential campaign, this is Vice President Kamala Harris' first visit to the battleground state. Former Representative Stacey Abrams, Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, and other Democratic lawmakers will present her, together with alumni from Morehouse College. There will also be a discussion with local leaders and advocates for reproductive rights, according to ABC News.

“We expect it to be as close as competitive this year,” said the Harris campaign Communications Director Michael Tyler to the outlet. “That’s why we have the team and the operation in place to make sure that we can turn out every single Harris voter in the state of Georgia,” he added,

Megan Thee Stallion's support of Kamala Harris is not new

The Grammy-winning rapper's endorsement of Kamala Harris is hardly shocking. Along with other "female trailblazers," Megan Thee Stallion joined Vice President Kamala Harris during Women's History Month in March 2023.

Megan Thee Stallion isn’t the only music star to endorse Kamala Harris

Megan Thee Stallion isn’t the only music star to endorse Kamala Harris’ presidential bid. Beyonce reportedly gave Harris’ campaign permission to use her 2016 song 'Freedom' throughout her campaign.

On her campaign's recently formed TikTok account, Harris also made an appearance last week alongside NSYNC singer Lance Bass. In a video, Harris told her supporters they will bid adieu to former president Donald Trump in November.

Internet mocks Kamala Harris and Megan Thee Stallion as she gears up for performance this week

Netizens slammed the popstar as she is set to perform at the presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee's rally this week. One X user tweeted, "Seems like the only way Kamala can draw a crowd is to have free entertainment." Another added, "Another woman who thinks she's male."

"Two of the worst role models for women. Go for it," remarked one while someone else wrote, "Gotta get all the black performers to pretend that Kamala is black."
