Meghan Markle and Prince Harry making 'desperate attempt at brand rehabilitation' with coffee commercial
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly been aiming at “brand rehabilitation” after their rift with the British royal family, reports sources.
The former ‘Suits’ actress recently appeared in a coffee commercial, following which a high-ranking courtier of The Palace shared that it was a part of the Sussexes’ “desperate attempt” to revamp their image.
‘This is all to boost sales’
The appearance of the Duchess of Sussex in the coffee commercial did not go unnoticed by the courtiers and associates of the royal family as they reportedly said it was an effort to boost their brand image.
One of the high-ranking officials recently shared with In Touch Weekly per Radar Online, "This is a desperate attempt at brand rehabilitation, to make people forget the damage she's inflicted on Harry's family," before adding, "This is all to boost sales."
The tipster added that following a dismal 2023 that included the recap of the royal drama in Sussexes’ Netflix drama ‘Harry & Meghan’, Markle thought of taking a "different route to success" in 2024.
Different from the folds of royal drama, the new coffee advertisement showed Meghan Markle in a fresh avatar. Conceptualized by brand expert Nick Ede, the new ad aimed to show “Meghan in a new light, both fun and frivolous."
Another source added, the royal rebels must be "frantically fishing" for opportunities to sustain their lavish lifestyle. They added, "Meghan may be forced to revive her lifestyle blog, The Tig, which she shut down in 2017 after she hooked Harry."
The source continued, "Taking selfies while wearing beautiful clothes beats working for a living, but as the Sussexes' popularity plummets, no one seems to be biting.”
It was also recently rumored that the couple want to turn around in 2024 after being termed "losers" by The Hollywood Reporter.
Golden Globes host Jo Koy makes Harry and Meghan joke
At the recently concluded 81st Golden Globes 2024, comedian and host Jo Koy made Harry and Meghan the butt of his jokes.
After enthusiastically poking fun at Leonardo DiCaprio, Bradley Cooper and 'Saltburn' actor Barry Keoghan, Koy mentioned the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who were not present at the high profile event.
Koy exuberantly told the crowd, “Harry and Meghan Markle got paid millions for doing absolutely nothing – and that’s just by Netflix,” who reacted by laughing, per The Independent.
The camera panned to Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos after the joke.
The Netflix documentary following the journey of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle premiered on Netflix on December 8, 2022.
