LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle was "hysterical" after she allegedly disobeyed Prince Harry’s strict instructions regarding discussing sensitive topics during an interview, a royal author has claimed.

The former actress sat down for an interview with Vanity Fair’s Sam Kashner in 2017, just two months before their engagement was made public, which led to chaos, Express reported.

In his book ‘Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors’, royal author Tom Bower revealed that Meghan was asked by the Duke of Sussex not to share her thoughts on three topics in the interview — Donald Trump, race, and their relationship.

Meghan Markle discussed sensitive subjects in interview

Tom Bower wrote, “Kashner arrived at Meghan's home and was told that his interviewee had been given strict instructions by both Harry and Keleigh Thomas Morgan [a publicist at PR firm Sunshine Sachs].”

“Knowing that Diana and Sarah Ferguson had ruined their reputations in interviews, Harry had asked Meghan to keep quiet about sensitive subjects - Donald Trump, race, their relationship, and especially himself. He was not to be mentioned,” Bower disclosed.

However, when the interview was published, the headline of the article read, “Meghan Markle, Wild About Harry!

The article also stated, “And as Markle tells Vanity Fair about her bi-racial background, her romance, and her hit series, Suits, it seems that this 36-year-old American may be just the woman for Britain’s iconoclastic royal.”

Meghan Markle freaked out after interview was published

Soon the interview created commotion. “Within hours, Meghan called Ken Sunshine [founder of Sunshine Sachs Consultants] and Keleigh Thomas Morgan. Hysterically, she described Buckingham Palace's fury at 'Wild About Harry,'” Bower said.

He continued, “Sunshine Sachs said Meghan should have ensured that her comments about Harry were removed. Why wasn't the focus on her philanthropy and activism? Ken Sunshine feared that Meghan would fire his agency."

“Puzzled why Buckingham Palace was angry, he called the magazine's editor to deliver what he imagined to be the ultimate threat. 'You're going to have to deal with the Queen on this,' he said.”

“The furious monarch, he imagined, like Trump, would pick up the phone and berate the editor. The editor was bemused,” Bower added.

However, after all the chaos, Meghan and Harry went on to tie the knot in May 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

They also eventually became parents to two children — Prince Archie, born in 2019, and Princess Lilibet, born in 2021. The family of four now lives in Montecito, California, after the Sussexes stepped down from royal duties in 2020 to live an independent life.
