LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, faced issues fulfilling some orders after its new product line sold out in under an hour after launch.

Meghan issued an apology after some customers purchased items that were already out of stock due to technical glitches.

Meghan Markle's As Ever site crashed as 'orders were happening so quickly'

Shoppers were quick to buy up As Ever's first range of limited-edition products, which included honey, jam, teas, crepe mix, and flower sprinkles.

Within an hour of the launch on Wednesday, April 2, the entire inventory was sold out. However, due to an unexpected volume of traffic, some customers were able to buy the wildflower honey with honeycomb even after it had already sold out.

An email sent to customers by the brand, shared on social media, explained the issue.

“The excitement created a volume of traffic on the site that even we couldn’t have anticipated (with everything selling out in an hour),” read the email.

“The orders were happening so quickly that the backend of the site didn’t have a chance to keep up. The Limited-Edition Honey that you purchased was, unfortunately, already sold out," it added.

"We are working on replenishing inventory and will gladly send you an item of your choosing to thank you for your understanding," the email added further.

Screenshots of the letter shared on social media revealed a personal message from Meghan Markle herself.

“Dear friend, My goodness, what a whirlwind this week has been! Thank you so much for the support. It really means so much to me,” she wrote in the email.

She continued, “I was so sorry to hear about what happened with your order, and that due to overselling we are not able to get you the Limited-Edition Honey."

"Please know the team worked very hard in every department, and felt just as sad when we learned what had happened,” Markle wrote.

Meghan Markle’s note promised customers early access to the brand's next launch, and those who did not receive the product despite their purchase were not required to order again.

“When our next limited edition item drop happens, you won’t just be the first to know … you’ll be the first to receive it."
