LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lady Victoria Hervey has shared her thoughts over Prince Harry’s 40th birthday party celebration, which was reportedly a low-key affair at his home in Montecito before he flew abroad with friends.

The English model claimed the Duke of Sussex held the private celebration on his milestone birthday on September 15 because of his wife, Meghan Markle, as reported by OK! Magazine.

She also accused the former actress of “depriving” Harry of his freedom.

Lady Victoria Hervey accuses Meghan Markle of 'caging' Prince Harry

Lady Victoria Hervey told GB News host Nana Akua about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, “He wanted to do a big party and she did not want that.”

“I think she's so worried about him straying and seeing his old friends and spending time with them and remembering his old life, that she's got him in this cage where all he knows is this life that he has with her,” she explained.

But Akua disagreed, saying the father-of-two is a "grown man" who can make his own decisions.

Harvey, however, responded saying, “40 is still very young - men are quite juvenile at 40-years-old. If he had a choice, he would have probably been in England with a lot of his old friends, but she's not going to let him do that, is she?”

Lady Victoria Hervey claims Prince Harry is ‘very dependent on’ Meghan Markle

“I think she keeps him on a really tight leash. You can see it in him, he's deprived of freedom. She's sort of his therapist and his babysitter and he's very, very dependent on her,” 47-year-old socialite Lady Victoria Hervey asserted.

Nana Akua once again tried to defend Meghan Markle by noting how she “managed to get Harry under control" after his "wild" lifestyle as a young royal.

The host also stated, “Maybe he's worried about actually being away from her for too long, which people might think that's quite sweet.”

Hervey hit back, “It's sweet in a way, but she is dominating him. He's worried about her reactions,” before adding, “I think if he doesn't do what she wants, she puts her feet down and then she probably threatens him with things about the kids or things that she'll do.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘not welcome’ in UK

This came after the British royal family, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, wished Prince Harry on his 40th birthday despite the strained relationship.

But as per royal commentator Kinsey Schofield, “Harry and Meghan are certainly not welcome back as a team. I would argue they are not welcome back at all if Prince William has anything to say about it… But Harry could potentially get his foot in the door through his father. [But] it is not something the royal family is longing for.”
