LONDON, UK: Fans of the UK royal family have expressed frustration after King Charles, Prince William, and his wife Kate Middleton, wished Prince Harry on his birthday publicly.

The royals have reportedly skipped birthday wishes for the Sussexes since 2021 after they gave an explosive interview to Oprah Winfrey against the firm following their exit from the UK.

However, this year was different as on September 15, Harry turned 40 and his father wished him on social media, as reported by The Sun.

Royal family did not wish Meghan Markle on her birthday

King Charles posted a photo of his second son, seemingly cropping Meghan Markle as the original July 2018 snap taken in Dublin included her, writing, β€œWishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!”

The Prince and Princess of Wales re-shared the same photo of the father-of-two and captioned it, β€œWishing a Happy 40th Birthday to The Duke of Sussex!”

The famous family, however, skipped wishing Meghan Markle on her birthday in August.

Netizens call birthday wish for Prince Harry β€˜wrong on every level’

Meanwhile, people online, who adore royals, did not seem happy with their gesture on Harry’s birthday.

An X user tweeted, β€œHe called you RACISTS and when was the last time he supported the Monarchy or was in Sussex?”

β€œA hateful man who’s treated his family abominably. We will never forgive how he treated Prince Philip and the Late Queen in their final weeks,” another user commented.

The third one wrote, β€œQuite frankly, this is far more than the ginger rat deserves! May he use his 40s to reflect on his cruel, selfish actions - so damaging to monarchy, country, and, most of all, himself!”

The fourth user stated, β€œI respect your sending birthday wishes, but I couldn't have done it. I still stand by my opinion: you could have done it personally. Try to read the room; it creates a division of precisely what the Sussex has done now for years.”

β€œThis is wrong on every level. Sorry, but it is,” the fifth one remarked.

An individual sharing the original photo commented, β€œWe see what you did there...πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚β€

β€œHarry will be DINING out on these 2 messages for a while now & probably will gaslight & try to use them in as many ways as he can,” another individual added.

The third one mentioned, β€œFamilies are complicated, but this one is beyond belief. Anyway ……”

β€œI’m sorry but I don’t agree with this. Harry did not wish Prince William a happy 40th birthday. He was too busy preparing his horrendous Netflix lie fest. Harry has not said one word while his supporters the Sussex squad have been harassing, bullying, lying about, and denigrating Catherine as she was dealing with cancer, in fact, they included William and the children. If he said please stop most would have stopped. Instead, he just kept on it. Everyone is blaming Meghan .. yes she’s a terrible person but she’s just an opportunist .. it is Harry who has been denigrating his own family and abusing his own frail & dying elderly grandparents. His behavior has been unforgivable,” a lengthy tweet read.
