According to insiders, the Duchess of Sussex hopes to secure a close friendship with the actress she has long admired, now that Aniston plans to live in Montecito.

The reports suggest Meghan Markle has been eagerly sending gifts such as jams and luxury wellness products to Jennifer Aniston, but the efforts may not be paying off as hoped.
“Meghan is thrilled that Jennifer is moving to Montecito. She’s been trying to get closer to her for years, and now that they’re neighbors, she sees this as the perfect opportunity,” a source told Radar Online.
Markle, 43, who lives in Montecito with Prince Harry, 40, and their two children, is reportedly hoping Aniston’s move from Bel Air will help make their long-awaited friendship a reality.
Aniston, 55, has reportedly decided to relocate after a stalker incident, when Jimmy Wayne Carwile crashed his car into her Bel Air home’s gates, prompting her to seek a safer environment.

Jennifer Aniston, meanwhile, is prioritizing her safety and has no interest in expanding her social circle.
“Jen appreciates the gestures but is focused on settling into her new home and prioritizing her safety. She’s not looking to expand her social circle at the moment,” a source told the outlet.

According to the publication source, Aniston sees “Meghan as poisonous and wants nothing to do with the drama she creates around herself and with the royal family.”
The source added, “Jen has quietly binned Meg’s gifts and not replied to any of her desperate invites for chats."
"She knows Meg also wants her as a guest on her podcast, but she’s having none of it. She doesn’t want her jam — or her friendship!” they added.

The publication previously reported that Jennifer Aniston is "at the top of Meghan’s wish list as a BFF" for having "so much influence and prestige in the business and is on first-name terms with all the big power players."
Another source speculated that Markle was “frantic” about getting back inside the “showbiz tent” and hinted that if she could “find a way to ride Jen’s coattails,” it could be “her ticket to the very top in Hollywood.”
However, the insider concluded, “Jennifer just ain’t interested” in getting involved with Meghan.
