Meghan Markle slammed as her Mother's Day post shows son Archie in pricey pajamas: 'She isn’t relatable'

MONTECITO, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle drew backlash after her recent Mother's Day post showed her son Prince Archie wearing a pair of expensive children’s pajamas.
In an Instagram post shared on Sunday, May 11, the Duchess of Sussex can be seen carrying her two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who had their legs wrapped around her waist.

Meghan Markle slammed as her Mother's Day post showed Prince Archie in costly pajamas
"Happy Mother's Day! Cheers to juggling it all with joy! And to these two gems who still attempt to climb 'mama mountain', smother me with kisses, and make every day the most memorable adventure....being your mom is the greatest privilege of my life," Meghan captioned the post.
"I, too, 'love you more than all the stars in all the sky, all the raindrops, and all the salt on all the french fries in all the world," she added.
The picture showed Meghan and her two children, dressed in angelic white, with palm trees visible at a distance in the background.

However, many saw fault in her post, especially when she claimed to be "juggling it all" as Prince Archie was dressed in expensive sleepwear, according to the New York Post.
Hello Magazine reported that his white and black sleepwear set is from the New York luxury label La Ligne and is known as the "Navy/white Enfant Bonne Nuit Pajamas."
The price of the button-up set was listed as $75 online, which is no longer available on their website, the outlet mentioned.

Furthermore, Meghan also faced criticism for not including her own mother, Doria Ragland, in her Mother’s Day post, and was asked why Prince Harry did not share a social media tribute to his wife on the occasion.
A user wrote on X, "This is a Mother’s Day post to HERSELF. It isn’t a post honouring her own mother, Doria. Weird, huh? Also, why is there no message issued from Harry to honour the mother of his children?"
So, have you noticed the obvious overt narcissism? This is a Mother’s Day post to HERSELF. It isn’t a post honouring her own mother, Doria. Weird, huh? Also, why is there no message issued from Harry to honour the mother of his children? @danwootton #meghanmarkle pic.twitter.com/uJB4XbFDWR

Another wrote, "Leave it to #MeghanMarkle to make Mothers Day all about her and not mention her own mother. Not a Happy Mothers Day to Doria, not a photo, not even a passing reference. Instead she congratulated herself on how amazing she is and how much her kids worship her. Very telling."

Meanwhile, a comment on the New York Post article read, "She desperately wants her Californian kids to look and dress like their English cousins. It's her attempt to flaunt her status as a Duchess when she's no different than the Kardashians."
One person wrote on X, "She’s so desperate to show off wealth and to over spend. Very poor mentality."

Another stated, "Some people are so poor all they have is money."
An individual remarked, "So she paid a lot of money for pajamas that look cheap? Markle not really known for fashion."

One individual speculated, "She's probably merching those PJs. Meghan doesn't post photos of the kids unless there's something in it for her. Amazing how the girl is now as big as the boy now and just 3 yrs old!?"

Royal expert claims Prince Harry not 'happy' with Meghan Markle using their children in brand promotion
In April 2025, Matt Wilkinson, the royal editor of The Sun, appeared on Hello! Magazine’s 'Right Royal' podcast, where he talked about how Prince Harry might feel about their children being featured on social media.
He was joined in the podcast by hosts Emmy Griffiths, Andreas Caamano, and Hello!’s royal editor Emily Nash.

The conversation took place as Markle has been posting more content on Instagram, particularly since the launch of her business called As Ever. Her posts often give glimpses of the couple’s two young children.
During the podcast, Wilkinson shared his thoughts on how Prince Harry might feel about their children being featured on social media, as per the Daily Mail.
"My understanding of this is that, up to a certain stage, Harry would much rather his children were not seen," Wilkinson said.

He continued, "Whereas Meghan grew up in California, she once said she would like to have a more California style lifestyle, take them down the beach, go out, do stuff. She doesn't want to hide them away."
Wilkinson said, "I think Harry's living in [like things are] the way they were when he was a child [...] the media landscape has shifted."

"You could argue that Meghan isn’t exploiting the children, she’s just…well maybe she is exploiting them but she’s using them to display her brand. She’s a mother. A homemaker and cooking at home," he added.
