Meghan Markle slammed for going make-up free in first podcast interview: 'Pretentious for no reason'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Meghan Markle went makeup-free during her first podcast interview with IT Cosmetics co-founder Jamie Kern Lima on her eponymous show.
Both women opted for a cozy, no-glam approach while recording the episode in sweats and rocking chairs, reflecting the way they spend their private time together, Page Six reported.
Meghan Markle gets candid as she goes makeup-free for podcast appearance
“She and I decided to do the episode the same way we spend most of our time together, with no makeup on, in our sweats, and cozied up in these two rocking chairs I have at my house,” Jamie Kern Lima explained on Instagram while teasing the Monday release.
At the start of the episode, Lima confessed, “I have not done an episode without makeup since my thousand QVC shows.”
Meghan laughed, replying, “Do you think I have?”

But beneath the casual setting was a deeply emotional moment. Meghan, 43, opened up about a touching tradition she’s started for her two children, Archie and Lilibet. Each night, she writes them emails, chronicling their sweet quirks and milestones.
“At one point in their life — maybe when they’re 16 or when they’re 18 — I’ll say ‘Here’s an email that I’ve been keeping for you. For your whole life, here’s everything and every moment that I wanted to tell you how much I love you and how proud I am of you,’” she shared, voice cracking with emotion.
“Of all things, that’s making me emotional,” she said through tears. “This is why it’s so nice to not have makeup on!”

Adding to the warmth of the moment, Meghan paid subtle tribute to her children with her outfit.
She wore a custom sweater with “Archie” and “Lilibet” stitched around the collar, paired with matching sweatpants and white sneakers.
Her hair flowed in loose waves, and her natural freckles glowed in the soft light.
Meghan Markle slammed for trying to be 'relatable' as she goes makeup-free for pal's podcast

Meghan Markle’s latest interview with Jamie Kern Lima has sparked a wave of criticism online, with many viewers calling out what they see as a disingenuous attempt to appear relatable.
One viewer expressed, "Just saw Markle's interview with Lima. What an empty person. Dead energy. Vacant."
Another viewer shared, "This is classic narcissist victim-playing. Trying to garner sympathy ..... 'no one asked how I was doing'. The desperation continues -- she went on this podcast to show how relatable she is and how she is just 'like other mothers'. OK."
One viewer pointed out, "She should audition for the role of Pinocchio it would come naturally."
A follower observed, "Looks like mag is putting some sort of color on her normally stark white hair part. It contrasted too much with the orange bronzer."
One comment read, "She always misses the mark. She thinks dressing in sweats that we know she spent 3 hours in the mirror trying to get that low effort look like she's relatable. She is insufferable, she is pretentious for no reason, and nothing about her is relatable because she's so desperate for attention she will do anything. She is trying to force herself down our throats yet again and it's not working. We don't have royalty here, you aren't even close to being successful other than marry a prince that has the intelligence of an elementary school child as well as the emotional regulation of one. They tried, they failed, stop trying to make them happen. Worry about the mess he's made in Africa."
Another added, "No makeup but tons of fake self tanner, eyebrow pencil and lipstick, She certainly is not wearing a Hanes sweatshirt and sweat pants from Walmart with Keds sneakers. She never takes off her thousands of dollars of jewelry."
