LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle’s alleged rift with former British Vogue editor Edward Enninful had more to it than him reportedly not being able to accommodate her for a cover in 2022.

Page Six reported that the former senior royal member wanted a list of demands to be fulfilled and even sought US Vogue’s Anna Wintour’s favor to fulfil her conditions to appear in the magazine.

Meghan Markle made ‘whole process difficult’ for Vogue editor Edward Enninful

A report by Daily Mail said that Markle was supposed to be part of a UK Vogue September 2022 issue, featuring her appearance at the One Young World Summit in Manchester and also “involved extensive features across the magazine and its digital editions.”

But the mother-of-two was adamant for the cover despite the Ghanaian-British fashion editor having already booked Linda Evangelista, which reportedly led to a fallout between the two.

A source said, “Edward was furious to have lost the project, as were the powers that be at Conde Nast. The whole process became very difficult. Edward could only promise her a big showy feature inside the magazine and online — but she turned it down," as per the Daily Mail.

Now, an insider has shared with Page Six that Markle wanted a “global cover,” which means her face on the covers of both UK and US Vogue all together.

Another tipster spilled that the Duchess of Sussex “asked for control over [the] photographer, writer, final edit, photos, cover lines, and wanted a global issue.”

“Nobody gets that. Not even Beyonce,” the source added.

The source also revealed that Meghan wanted Wintour’s help and had set up a personal Zoom call with her. But “Anna wasn’t interested” as she had pitched Serena Williams as the cover star.

“Meghan asked for a Zoom with her to reconsider, and Anna did it to be polite,” they alleged.

Meghan Markle’s source dismisses allegations that she wanted a Vogue global cover

But an insider has claimed that Meghan never wanted to be on Vogue’s cover and it was the magazine that approached her several times after her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry.

She was first approached for the cover of British Vogue’s 2019 “Forces for Change” issue. She, however, agreed to do guest edit.

Markle then became the digital cover girl for New York magazine’s The Cut in 2022.

She was also scheduled to be on the cover of Variety that month but that happened a month later because of Queen Elizabeth II’s death, who died on September 8, 2022.
